I think the point is, whether you have ABS or not, keep your distance from the car in front of you!
Remember, thinking time, reaction time...
However, I must admit that ABS (on my valver) saved my life when a lorry doing about 50 pulled out in front of me on the motorway when I was doing 80...
Do you find that Induction kit helps? I had one for my Mk1 1.4S and it seemed to improve throttle response (also made one hell of a noise for an ickle 1.4!! :D). Bought one for my Valver and it felt much slooower!????
Probably my crap mechanical skills, had hell of a time getting the cold...
Already HAD many MR2s in me Valver!! :devilish:
(Disclaimer, this excludes Turbo variants and all others that may have had the bollox modded off them!) LOL!
Had my Valver from 26,000 miles up to 82,000 miles. No major problems whatsoever. Disks and pads are consumable items you know! (as well as bettery and clutch cables). Mind you, I was informed that snapped clutch cables are a common fault with early Clios...
Sounds like you had a duff one...
In my old valver, I felt I could take corners quicker, it felt more composed than the Cup does??? Cup is definately more responsive than the valver tho. Dont know about the Williams, only had a short test drive many many moons ago.... (always wanted one of those! :D)
I am wondering about BRUNs post about needing 2 coppers for the point to point? Is this true? Hopefully it requires two of em and therefore he has nothing on you :D
Best of luck tho, I hope it turns out ok for you!!
Oh!
But he couldnt prove this either way could he? I mean he was on his own, no test equipment (not sure about the calibration of the vehicle - have you asked for the certificates?)
I got pulled by a copper in a van . When he finally caught me up (I saw the lights come on in the distance and slowed it right down!!! (It was dark, how was I to know it was a cop van driving up me arse???) Anyways, he reckoned on my speed quite spot on (about 90 on a deserted dual lane...
No wonder these VW guys are getting so upset, its gotta be a kick in the teeth for the new GTi owners when the GT TDi has got more grunt than their petrol versions!!!! ;)
I must admit, I have no problem with wot Ben did in that situation. If more of us stood up to the injustices in this country, perhaps it would be a better place!
I am sure Ben didnt want to be in that situation but remember, he was forced to act due to some mindless pr*ck who cant keep his...
I know how you must feel! Stuffed my first Clio into the back of a Fiesta, front of car was totally squared off!
Hope it gets fixed ok soon - most importantly, you did not damage yourself! :D
Well, in me old 16V clio I got toasted by my mates Rover Vi (those K-series are wicked engines!) and a same mark clio 16V (which looked totally standard - mine had zorst + chip) an got toasted again (acclerated away from me at 100 like I was standing still!)....
Just to check it wasnt me...
