Sounds like good progress James.
Lol at Fred. What next? BTM concierge maybe
Yes. I can see how it's easy to transition from track to race car before you know it. After the initial modifications that's all we planned to do with it, then get out and enjoy it as much as possible. Then the engine went which put a spanner in the works:(
Nearly there now though.
Nope. Standard open diff here. Not sure we will ever fit one as we need to start funding trackdays now rather than upgrading etc. Scary that we still have only got two track days out of this car to date:( hopefully that number should go up soon:)
Woo! A project thread for the race car. About time;)
Good luck for Saturday. Nervous yet? Is this the first bit of circuit racing since the sprinting days? Ps. Need to pick your brains about that. Mike and I wouldnt mind giving it a go sometime.
See you Sat.
Great news!! Hmmm. I might need to see if I can bag a couple of sponsors and get stuck in with some of this racing lark.
I will be up at Donington next Saturday so will see you (BIGASH, Tony, Jay....) and probably a shed load of other CS members. Let's hope this weather keeps up hey!
Quick...
Chip. We had a problematic throttle when we installed our new engineer. No throttle at all and 2.7k idle. Swapped tb and pedal for known working items and still no joy, so swapped back. As per Mick's post, our engine fuse box contained lots of oxidised contacts. I cleaned all of of them...

Scary ammount of dust from the rear brakes. Don't think ours do much at all. It's takes ages to get the surface rust off the disks sometimes :)
Had a quick look and I see Donny falls on Sat 15th. I'm free so...
Yes. Solarwinds is good as a monitoring tool. It's what BT Sas use to monitor their customer base. The GUI is really easy to navigate and you get fancy looking gauges for bw monitoring etc. I don't have much experience using it to monitor servers to be honest so couldn't help you there. Alerts...
I use Solarwinds to manage/monitor customers networks everyday. Normally Orion Network Performance Monitor and Network Configurtion Manager modules more than the others. Installed and modelled networks forms scratch as well as normal administration of maps etc on a day to day basis.
The...
Good work Phil. The calipers really do look nice but the only issue i have found with them is that they seriously eat the pads; talking track work here. Might be because the pad area is smaller than that of a standard pad. Cannot deny the unsprung weight advantage though, nor the feel through...
Cleaned all the electrical contacts in the engine fuse box today and put it back together - throttle is still working :)
Wheeled the car out of the garage and gave it a very quick wash; the first one in 10 months! Plenty of dust had formed from its time in the garage. Hoping to start running in...
Managed to do a bit more towards the throttle issue today. Mike came over to mine and swapped out the throttle body and pedal for known working items but the fault remained - no throttle and 2.7k idle :( So he reverted back to the original parts.
I came home from work and couldnt resist further...
Stage 6 looks like a sensational bit of road. Would love to have a go at that!!
Like the jump at the end; shame about the damage through.
Congratulations on the result.
Still no joy with the throtte:(
Had the plenum off today and sealed/checked for leaks on the TB, MAP and intake temp sensor. Made sure upper inlet was sitting correctly and sealing on lower inlet and oval breather seal at the back. Carbon canister has been removed but the pipe to the rocker...

That is a huge ammount of time to chop of your lap James! You must be really happy with that!
How much SLOW traffic was out on the session of your video! :(
Over 1 week without an update. Things didnt go quite to plan when we tried starting the new engine for the first time last week! Mike and I counted down from 3 then i turned the key and............nothing! Except for a popped fuse - doh!! Full details of problem listed here. Basically, the old...
New starter in and great news! Works a treat:)
Not sure why the old solenoid packed up but that was definately at fault here.
Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions /advice in this thread:)
Nick
Now just need to work out why the Dbw throttle body isnt working compared to the throttle...
