To be honest I think if you made this into an interclub shoot out I dont think you would get a great numbers of Saxos coming along to actually race.
From what Ive seen there will only be limited numbers of the SSC who would want to take their car down the strip especially if they had to go all...

If you are struggling for numbers you could do what the pug boys do and make it a French car day...
I would definetly be up for going along if you did and Im sure I could get a few others along. Plus might create a bit more magazine interest!
Failing that can I stick a Reno badge on my car...

The new WRX isnt all that quick to 100mph...
Does the 0-100 in 17-18s which is very similar to the 172
0-60 is more impressive simply due to the 4wds ability to launch, but poor bhp/tonne and the extra losses through the gearbox mean that once its rolling it just isnt that quick.

LOL... yeah it can be a little hairy in the wet, but in the dry its nowhere near as bad as you would expect, power delivery is very smooth and controlled. Its very easy to steer the car with the throttle, especially as it doesnt take much to provoke understeer. Once Ive got an LSD it should be...

I think if your reasons are right you can tune any car...
I could have quite easily bought an old Scooby with the money Ive spent on my car...
I wanted something that would surprise people, and it does. Its the looks on peoples faces when you either go shooting past them or they simply cant...

Probabaly a lot more power than the engine could handle...
Youd need to lower the compression ratio to around 9:1 for a start so youd need low compression forged pistons, maybe a new crank and con rods depending on what percentage increase in power they can handle.
Then theres the clutch...

How the hell did he fit an Eaton supercharger into a 172.
Ok the eaton M45 from the C/SLK is fairly small for a roots type s/c but it makes the rotrex look tiny!
He must have it strapped to the top of the engine sticking out of the bonnet like some sort of Mad Max american muscle car :D

Just a quick note, not sure if this will effect the 172 but i know other cars suffer from this...
The second lamba prob that should be after the cat is there for emissions reasons, what is does is detect if all of the fuel has been burnt, if you remove the cat unburnt fuel will pass down the...
Im not expecting them to beat me... I havent mentioned my S/C in this thread...
Oh and the reason I put an air pump on my car was because i enjoy the look of utter disbelief on the drivers of so called sports cars as a small french hothatch sh*ts on them from a great height!
"Its got pretty much the same set up as a 172"
Its pretty much the same in which ways?
Different springs, therefore different dampers, and different track therefore totally different suspension geometry.
Of all the car magazines Ive read I have yet to have seen one that rates the 1.2 16V...
To be honest having look in the engine bay of a 172 it would be a very tight squeeze, even in the bay of the MK2 VTR you need a new manifold, new radiator, and the back of the headlight has to be cut away to fit it...
Youd also probabally have to loose the air con...
Thats not to say it...

To give the example of my car standard 98bhp @ fly or around 75-80bhp @ wheels
With S/C on its own I had around 125bhp @ wheels
Added an intercooler and a few extra bits, power went up to 165bhp @ wheels
GMC produced a Supercharged VTS for one of the far eastern touring car championships...
The turbo is dead long live the supercharger...
If you put a Turbo on a 2 litre engine its like having a 2 litre turbo engine...
Put a supercharger on a 2 litre engine and its like adding another couple of cylinders, itd basically be like a 3 litre engine.
Ford are in the process of...
Ive got a camera shy plate...
Ive been pulled twice with it on and both time the police havent noticed it.
Both me and several mates have taken photos of the back of the car and even using photoshop to enhance the image you cant make it out!
