Ive been pulled twice with it on and both time the police havent noticed it.
Both me and several mates have taken photos of the back of the car and even using photoshop to enhance the image you cant make it out!
I dont really agree with what VTR_Dude has said or done, but I dont think you should start flaming the whole of the SSC just because of the actions of a few individuals...

The VTRs 1.6 8v is a tough as a sh*t...
There are very few engines that will handle such massive percentage increases in power so easily!
There is a certain Supercharged 206 which has a same engine g/box as the VTR that has around 230bhp using totally standard engine internals which is used...

I think a standard VTR would be a bit of a come down after driving a Williams. At least the VTS has got some grunt, and you can tune them up to around 150-160bhp fairly easily.

Its too late in the day to get technical...
But basically providing the VTS has enough power and high enough gear ratios it will be able to do 160mph+ If anyone would like to explain the physics behind why this is wrong Im all ears.

S3s dont have enough power, they are quick off the mark due to 4wd but from a rolling start, I wouldnt be surprised if a 172 would match one...
Although S3 has a more impressive 0-60 the 172 has similar 0-100mph as the S3 and they also have similar bhp/per tonnes

If you put a VTR gearbox in a VTS youve then got something like a theoretical top speed of around 165mph, as long as youve got the extra power to get it up there...

If the Cup is aimed at the Saxo & pug brigade its worked if they had been around this time last year, id have bought one...
Seriously looked into buying a 172 before I had the Saxo Supercharged, only reason i didnt buy it was because of all the leather and extra crap you dont really need...
That is way out my VTR was timed at Brunters as part of the PGTI shoot out...
When I hit the rev limiter in 5th I was doing just past 140mph on the clock and my actual recorded speed was just under 136mph
Top speed on VTS is only around 2-3mph faster than VTR and there is no way under normal...
