Not a problem with the exhaust is it Paul? Mate who bought one of my old Clios put a new centre section and back box on and it stopped the exhaust hitting the gearstick all the time.
Ill give you a bell tomorrow about that fuel pump per email. :D
Shell isnt as good as people make out. Its a low grade fuel with loads of boosters in it which deteriorate. (sp)
A guy on the MR2OC has gone through 3 engines that all used Optimax, when he finally opened one up he found it was coated in residue and gunk left buy the crappy additives that go...
Heard various rumours of a de-tuned Megane 225 lump going in a Clio.
Dont forget Mike T managed to supercharge his Vee and get aprox 380bhp!
Thats some scary shiznit.
I smashed my dads escort right up when I 1st passed (woops)

Car was 3 years old estimated value at the time was aprox £8k cost of repair was over £4k
Took em 8 weeks to repair it and appart from the alarm...
Its only a write off if its not ecconomical to repair. IE the cost of repair exceeds the estimated value of the vehicle.
Or in extreme circumstanstances an actual total loss when the vehicle ceases to be what it was originally intended to be.
You should complain to the police that they...
IMO you wont get the bang for the buck your looking for.
Ask around some people on here have well tuned Williams/2.0 Valvers that are very quick. Problem is eventually youll get used to that power and then where do you go? Alot of money for something you will eventually get bored with.

Theyre fickle. I managed to blag the MR2 after persuading the broker that the Clio 16v I prev drove was a serious performance car. Which it is but he didnt know much about it.
He said had it been a Willy my premium would have been cheaper.
Strange cause norwich union usually are very cheap.
You wont have any problems insuring with with fncb though. Mate of mines 21 and got fncb and drives a 2 year old Golg GTI turbo. Cost £900 fc.
I blew the engine up in my mk 1 1.4rt and the 16v has had a clutch, the fuel pumps knackered and almost impossible to replace. Electrics are always going on the blink on both cars and overall build quaility isnt exactly Toyota.
BUT - you have to remember, these cars arent expensive so it would...
No one can deny the untimate cars to hold their value are Cossies.
Unless a Focus Cosworth comes out then the Escos will stay at their current value (depending on condition) (£15k - £25k)
Another car that holds it superbly is the 3 door Sierra and the RS500 and the RS200. (All still over...
Whats the depreciation like on Vees?
Its an aweful lot of money on a 2 seater that could lose thousands and thousands over a shor t period of time.
Sure Ive seen some mk1 vees going for about £16k-18k which is around £10k loss over just a few years.
Not a bad price - consider though that to do the head gasket you might as well get the manifold gaskets done and the others that make up the full set.
Saves time and money in the future.
Make sure they put you a nice new cambelt on there as mark the milliage on the invoice!!

Just raising the rev limiter is about as usefull as a chocolate kettle IMO.
Williams hits peak power around 6K rpms - then it drops off so why raise the limit to say 7k rpms when your getting less power there?
Was funny with mine in that every one seems to know me and talks to me about my cars. Even though its chavtastic they dont seem to nick from things they like. But think the neighbouring towns are right theives.
Took it to Bas Vegas which might as well be another country as theres no conection...
Sorry to hear it tom - happened to my old RT they nicked my sub and amp. Miles away from where it live but very accurate attack on the car. IE they broke in nearest the sub and amp!
What car is it - did you end up swapping for the Punto?
Bout £200 incl VAT.
Id so some proper research before going and buying one just cause its cheaper than a UniChip.
Piggyback or standalone ECUs are far far more programable than simple chips.
Personally though on a normally aspirated car I wouldnt worry about it unless your having headwork...
