If it redlines at 6,500 rpms then it sounds like a Williams engine or a 2.0 of sorts. (I know of some one that bought a 1.8 from a breakers only to realise it was a Williams engine - it does happen)

Also - what does it red line at? - Where is the peak power on the rr print out?

They did my 16v for half what Renault quoted and they completed the job in half the time they quoted. Can any one really knock them for that?

The williams only came in Valver blue ;) It was limited edition as a homoglation (sp) for the Renault rally (was it rally?) Based on same chassis etc the Williams has wide front track and basically more poke. Posher Williams velour seats, blue dials, blue seat belts, blue carpets. Contrary...

Never heard of 190s - sure theyre not 195s? Most people will tell you to go standard size and most of all the brand that come on the car orig. Renault did a lot of testing to make it handle etc etc etc. Personally go for what you want, tyres have moved on since the Willy was designed 11...

Valvers and Willies are like that though! My MR2s got best of both worlds, off boost its chilled on boost it screams along with the engine roaring and the turbo wining right behind you. Bet the yellow beasts quite mild isnt it?

Yeah they made it more suitable as an every day car for may be slightly older people! Never been in either to be honest.

Theres loads of phase 1 172s popping up round my way. I hate silver cars but its prob the best colour on a phase 1 172. Theres alot of difference between the phase 1 and 2s by the way. 0-60 isnt the best way to decide which is faster on cars that are designed for twisties.

I like the 17" gold speedlines on the Willy then decked. Looks more agressive in a still standardish way. Only Clio Id have now is a Williams and that wont be for long, just one day Ill get one so I can say Ive had one.
