Why bother doing a Williams one. It aint gonna happen.
I hear Renault wont be making a mk3 shaped V6 either.
Focus ST is gonna be 2.5 20v 5 cylinder turbo. And it will undercut the Astra VXR and Golf GTi by a couple of grand by the sound of it.
Gonna be faster than the current RS.
The problem is, being such a new car most of the parts are as efficient as they´re gonna get. (IE exhaustand airfilter)
A chip will improve the way the fuel/air mixture works. It might not give you a huge gain at the top but it will improve power and torque through the rev range.
As Loony...
Ive seen a real road legal RS200. Think they were only made in 1984 so whats that "A" reg?
Never been driven on the road, had nobly track tyres on when I saw it.
I had 66bhp lost on my last time. 210bhp atw 276 atf.
210bhp atw is the only part of that Id take for gospel.
But 276hbp and 280lbs torque sounds better.
Some of you have very odd opinions on RR. You simply cant take 20% and say it works. A RR ONLY measures power at the wheels accurately. They dont simply use a mathmatical equation to gross it up to the fly. If youve ever actually noticed when they hit the redline they dont just take off the...
Alot of you are comparing the TT to hot hatchs.
Lets fact it, they are painfully beautiful. Something NO hothatch could really match.
Ive not driven one but went out in one. Think my tubby would ruin it in the speed stakes even when it was standard. BUT that German cabin was so nice...
BHP sells cars - TORQUE wins races. Bottom line is a turbo will have a huge torque advantage from midway in the rev range.
Also turbos work in different ways, mine for instance is a twin entry designed specifically for low lag.
What car is the map for?
Every car is unique and theyve coppied a map for another car, results will prob be different depending on your current state of tune.
You cant account for a breakdown. My clutch just fell appart in my valver. Wasnt doing anything daft.
If hed have crashed it then thats a different story.
Did you not see how much it left the Audi by on the strait. It was like a Fiesta 1.1 verses and RS Turbo.
And I doubt Clarkesons a bad driver, 20 years in the business?
My mates had his for 1/2 years, he bought it from his brother who had it for 2-3 years. Only thing to go wrong with it was an exhaust gasket.
Not bad for an 8 year old car with nearly 70k on the clock running 18psi of boost.
I loved Clarkesons comment on the Minaro.
"The Australians unlike the Americans still respect our authority and put the steering wheel on the right side of the car"
They use cheap materials to build them. Theyre ugly (99% of the time) They have huge engines and not alot of power. (How often do they crack 100bhp per litre?) 400bhp and couldnt crack 163mph - mine can prob do that.
Theyre ridiculously large - use too much fuel for our price.
They dont...
That Caddy was in the pissing rain lol. Was the Clio is such poor conditions?
I have to commend the mature way this has been taken. Id have thought all hell would break loose after that lol.
I love Clarksons comment - "Usually American cars drive you round the bend"
"Well this one ACTUALLY...
Not being funny but get with the programme - Renault arent exactly the best made cars in the world now are they.
Theres people on here with BRAND spanking new 182s that go wrong. 172s that randomly catch fire. Wont even get started on mk1s. How you can you say Fiats are bad when you all drive...
