:) 197 was me mate, my mate (who also has a 172 cup) was about 12 cars ahead of you lol. A day for renaultsports round halesowen / stourbridge it seems.
The 200 is a great car, and in the right colour combo can look very good :) Your right about the 172 / 182 seeming to pick up quicker though. I really did miss that at first when I picked up my 197, but its just something you get used to.
Re: Wolverhampton mini meet - all welcome
Would be interested in this, should have my cams and remap sorted on my 197 at that point. Been a while since I've been to a meet so be good to have a nosy at other peoples cars and meet a few new faces.
ok, i have a 197 minus the cup suspension. are there any issues fitting the suspension setup from a 197 cup or even a 200 cup to my car? Or would it be more worthwhile just fitting a set of kw's for the money?
I'm not overly bothered about having the car decked, i'm looking at from a purely...
i drove both the corsa vxr and a 197 prior to buying my 197. I hated the corsa. I like the look of it and the interior is pretty nice. But to drive, it was just a yawnfest. The power was delivered too smoothly, and too progressively. The handling didn't feel as involving either.
lol I'm off to this, not actually been to the pod before, is the queue to get in anything like trax? The clutch on my 197 is prone to breaking when being stuck in traffic jams for over an hour lol.
can't say i ever get this. the only way i get attention is if i do a full launch off some lights. most other clio rs owners round by me are completely ignorant as well and look at like your a nutcase if you give them a thumbs up.
i had mine up for 8k not so long ago and recieved little to no interest at all. i wouldn't say 8k was unreasonable for a fully specced 197, 43k, everything apart from xenons and recaros on it, fsh, new tyres and a yozza exhaust. best offer i got was a 1.8 sri corsa lol.
My 197 is significantly better than my old 172. 1 rattle and that's the badly designed glovebox which doesn't sit right. Steering wheel is fine, and i never had an issue in my 172 either, maybe I'm lucky.
Only other issue I've got is the bolster on the drivers seat (none recaro) has worn...
I bought v12 evo's for my 197 and tbh now they've had a few hundred miles put on them they seem pretty good. Especially considering they are half the price of the conti's.
From what i've read / heard, 197 induction kits are pants and offer no real advantage over panel filter.
I think the way to go is the v6 / cup racer airbox setup.
Of course I could be wrong lol.
lmao ^^
Fred knows all about the above. I still haven't got round to getting new pins, keep forgetting. £40 a side though? I thought it was £20 for the fronts?
lmao true, itb's ftw mate.
Next time i'm up there i'll keep my eyes peeled for you. Was just visiting a few friends, but the amount of rs clio's I saw was pretty staggering.
Yesterday in Crewe, silver 1*2, giving it some on the dual carriage way by mmu.
Black 172 with a private plate. (Saw a few times)
Another black 172 with yellow detailing.
Blue 182 cup at a set of lights on the high street (around 5pm).
I've probably missed some, seem to be loads of...
I agree, I currently have 2 loans that equate to roughly £450 a month and a credit card bill which I'm paying off as well. All are the result of cars. In future, whatever I buy will be bought with my own money and not the banks.
tbh I was offered this car having just checked my pm's, I'm glad I didn't take you up on the offer to be fair.
I can't say much though as I let my 172 run out of oil, I paid the price as well - £2,560 altogether. I replaced pretty much everything but the gearbox. Total Control Racing (clio cup)...
