I went up against one at pod and beat him by about a millitrilli second. But after about 80 he was closing the gap and about to overtake me.

Variable valve timing is basically what it says. It allows the valve lift/duration to alter, i.e. increase if you were to put your foot down.

Yeah try changing or topping up gearbox oil. I've had my engine out recently (Albeit on a mk1) but I put my selector back in about 1 spline out and its hard to get into first or sometimes second without giving it a few revs first. It may have slipped a spline on the shaft? Also could be...

Gotcha! Cheers. How much will it be to get the head machined? I like the look of the megane head/covers, but might be cheaper to buy a 16v head say £50 or sommat.

Dan. Why can't I just use the megane head with the megnae loom and ecu? Would the cams fit the head? I'm polishing the inlet up at work today. Am I wasting my time as I'm guessing this won't fit the 16v head if I need to put that on?
