Yeah but 10bhp isnt worth a w**k wouldnt even notice the difference, i think the diff in 0-60 times between a 172 and 182 is prob down to the wider better tyres as standard
Loads of work, im sure its possible you would need, tb, extensive headwork, larger valves etc, a monster MONSTER cam custom exhaust manifold, plus exhaust, rebuilt bottem end as your prob going to have to rev it to about 9k oh and a few of those chip things off ebay. Dont see why it isnt...

Sounds like its dieing, it depends how you drive as to the life of a clutch, in my old car it did about 40k on the origonal clutch id had it for 7k then it need replacing, at this point i put my special engine in it on a standard box and clutch with about 50bhp more and that clutch errrmm didnt...
