    6k on my turbo cars and 6-8k on my old 172, yeh it is expensive but I always wait to get an offer, the last time I bought it I got a 1ltr bottle free and an air freshener :).

    Correct. Everytime I have used Fuchs/Silkolene my cars have always improved, it may cost more but there is a good reason.

    Well it won't pass emissions test so it is classed as illegal, but most who fit them get little trouble. You should notice the car revs a bit more freely and possibly more torque.

    If you use hot soapy water as lube it helps to keep the clay clean after each pass I have found, then you can use the QD for other stuff.

    Had you considered removing them and painting them satin black? Did that on my old 172 trim and looked fine.

    You should be able to get to them by removing some of the arch liner, rubber flaps sit behind them.

    I used a samco ph2 on mine, it was modified to fit the ph1.

    Bought a 172 today- its now on a RAC flatbed

    The rocker cover holds the cams in place, to remove it would mean re-timing everything up(new cambelt kit etc).
