well atm im just trying to get the engine running in the ph1 to make sure its ok after the compression test. In the end the engine will go in a ph2 1.2 16v.
Looking at trying to get this engine started this weekend the problem is it doesnt actually have any fuel pipes atm. Has anyone got a piping diagram or can give me a quick run through of what goes to where etc?
Another thing, is the fuel pump next to the actual fuel tank?

Obviously im looking at doing an engine conversion to my 1.2 to a 2.0ltr but only being 17 (18 in march) insurance is going to kill me.

1 . Would my converted car be classed as the same insurance group as a standard 172 or would it be more...
came with the loom and everything, the engine is turning over its just not firing up which is the imoboliser's fault as the light is always on the dash.

Problem is the car doesnt move (incomplete conversion) and the engine won't be in there for very long but not bad for £550...
Hi travelled an 8 hour round trip to essex today to pick up my new car, well engine :P Now i have more idea what the key problems are and need a few questions answered :)

havent actually tested the engine myself just words from the guy who i am buying it from.
If its not sparking what could be the problem? HT's,spark plugs?

is there anyway to by-pass the imoboliser so that i can test the engine to make sure it works or is there any other way to test the engine? as its firing up but not sparking.

any other idea's about the imobiliser/ecu? can you get it all re-programmed including the key to match or will i have to buy a new ecu etc all matching from the same car?

Just bought an engine from ebay ready to go into my 1.2. Have a couple of questions relating to the engine first though :)
1 . The engine is not sparking up, seems like the key isnt sync'd with the ECU or an imobilizer problem. One choice is to buy a new ecu,uch,keys etc.....any other ideas...
