Well I exceeded my deadline of purchasing the car before I turned 21 but it took a little longer than expected to find the right one.
After months of looking I decided to take a break. Went to the Nurburgring in the 182 and met a Carrera 4s owner out there. Seeing one in person made me want one...
Update time!
So have yet to buy a car but have made an offer on a 997 Carrera as it was offered fairly cheap to me. However I have yet to negotiate with the actual owner so have yet to receive a response.
I saw one perfect-ish 996 4s up in Falkirk, low mileage at £21k. However we are currently...
Its more personal preference and with manual cars holding there value better and not to mention the driving experience with the manual. Now by all means I totally agree autos (Dual clutch etc.. included) should be in high performance cars. However at 315bhp manual would be nice. Additionally...
Hate when this happens... you see an advert and its either sold or a Tip tronic urgh!!

Lovely one on cars and classics. It is blue though I'd prefer black. I'll keep an eye on this one. Only 68k miles and I could potentially extend the budget. But ideally not as theres no fun in that.

The right one will appear in the budget. Its just a case of when that will happen. Essex Prestige had a beautiful one a couple of months ago, low miles, hartech rebuild, FSH, full options, 85k miles only £21k but I wasn't ready to buy one then. I have almost 2 months to go so I have a good...
Possibly. Ideally I like to stick to the budget if possible. Portia craft are looking for a car for me so would be interesting to see what turns up. They did say that having a high mileage car didn't stop the car being sold. It just has a smaller audience. There highest mileage car to date was a...
Not really. The issue is as the car I buy will be close to 90k miles, I'd probably add another 8-12k it brings it very close if not surpassing 100k. This will probably bring its price down. All in all I think it would be a break even experience. Which is better than losing money. The best time...
So I went to Portia Craft in Watford today. I saw a gorgeous 996 on their website. It is out of budget (£24995) simply due to its 70k miles. Portia Craft do not accept offers or haggle, this is down to the fact that all cars have a full service and problems fixed before they are sold...
Not to worry haha this car will be used for road trips into to Europe and when not in use I shall be travelling with friends. Although i am not the type of person to want to go to a party island like Malia or Maga, not my scene.
I assume you mean the 997? I like the 996 because (gonna sound lame) but theres a connection there. Driving it in racing games, the scene from gone in 60 seconds when it gets driven out of the showroom, the poster of the 996 turbo on my wall as a kid, the glorious flat 6 sound, the fact its the...
There's a video on YouTube (first video if you search Porsche 996 c4s I believe) they do a rolling race between the 2016 c4s and the 996. The 996 only lost by 3 car lengths. Considering the £50k price difference that ain't bad. I've always been pulled in by Porsche especially the 911's. 911T is...
Haha yeah I know the looks are very marmite. I've always like the 996 turbo so the looks aren't a problem personally. The interior on the other hand does look weird, however my focus will be on the 5 dials and open road so it's not a issue
You may recall a thread I put up which was titled '£30k to spend, what performance car?'
(link http://cliosport.net/threads/%C2%A330k-to-spend-what-performance-car.807114/page-3#post-11383734)
After looking through all of the suggestions and thinking about what I want from the car. I came to...
Same with most of the other brands tbh. However the generation for 996 has started to get to the point where they could afford one, hence the increase in price. Its also one of the last series of 911 where the price hasn't hit stupid numbers. 996 Turbo was my poster car but cant afford that so...
What was I thinking about the C2S of course C4S lol. I love the turbo body. Hopefully these wont increase to much by the end of this year. So I can get one for a good price on my insurance renewal.
Dont want to get into to much detail but I assure you its all hard earned and not from the parents! My dads against me getting cars lol because he doesnt see the point.
Thanks Jason! Unfortunately I did a quote on these for when I turn 21 in a couple of months and its over £5k. C63 and porsches are only £1800 so its weird. I have really taken to a 996 carrera 4s. Spoke to porsche owners today and they said ideally get a c2s 996 if I find one.
GTR R35 is still £36k+
I am liking the Porsche 996 Carrera 4s, I am aware of the issues with the engines and the high prices of Porsche's parts division.
