    There is a tin cap on the end of the gearbox. Held on with 3 13mm bolts. Undo those, shimmy (struggle like f**k) the cap out, you'll be left with the 5th gear selector and sprockets. There is a t40 bolt and a nut on the shafts. One of those will have come loose. Don't forget to drain the oil.

    I don't think it's the mounts IMO. It could be the spring as said by Fred, as when we were at Llandow I was underneath using the selector, and 3rd just doesn't feel right when slotting it in.

    £100 less for a cup. I haven't got a direct comparison of the 197's. The last one I had done had gained a few bhp and a few lb-ft across the range. Power delivery, they deliver like the standard cams, They just pull slightly harder at each stage, and then don't die off until 7700. tonyd106...

    As in if you buy cheap chargers they'll be less reliable. Rotrex chargers are just a ticking time bomb. They'll go, but it's a case of when. I don't supply 197 cams, I don't have the time to be searching for them! If you supply then for an air con model, it's £435, £100 fitting and timing the...

    Leon cupra R, and exhaust gas temperature. Basically, it was on the verge of melting because he had turned the boost up but not added any fuel. It's only the fact the ecu reads the temperature, and as it gets to melting point the ecu steps in and dumps a load of fuel in to cool everything down.

    I wouldn't recommend P-torque. A few years back when I had my LCR the map was dangerous on it. The only saving grace for it was the ecu's EGT Protection.

    Timing of the cams is done when they are installed. Inlet wise you want an RS2, which is quite rare over here to come up for sale, and when they do it's circa £1000.

    You should get away with that. But it shouldn't have brought the compression down that much.
