Couldn't have said it better.
I've got a bit of tuition booked, the idea is to get consistent seat time and hone some skills! My 46 just couldn't manage that reliably.
That's my point, even the charged schirmer ones need cooling down...
4.4 stroker if I ever destroy the crank! 500 n/a would be lovely but it's such a nice car to drive all the way up to the redline and as others have said, the balance and chassis is right where it is, hopefully I get a good...
Already have two ESS dealers lined up, problem with charging is keeping the temperatures down and I don't think I'd particularly gain much with a charger other than short bursts of speed.
My friend estimates 12 seconds off a ring lap going from 380/525 in his E46.
Which does interest me, but...
Too much, but for a project like this it's the little touches that make it better than just an average build in my eyes.
I've wanted work done by LG Trimming for a while so I'm happy with these.
I supplied the alcantara which valued around £70 for these items and it cost roughly £300 to trim...
It was a good spec and fortunately enough mostly to my taste too.
Future plans are;
Akra slip on (maybe full evo)
GT4 wing, higher mounts as you've said. Drexler/gripper and diff cooler over winter.
Possibly a carbon airbox/charger.. but it'll be a track car mostly so want it to be reliable...
I think so too. Modernises the interior in line with how it should have been from the factory.
The V8's sound phenomenal on full chat, I've been eyeing up the carbon airbox for this - been resisting since I bought it!
Spoiler has to stay, been proven to add some downforce in high speed...
Seeing as the M3's been in having some bushes fitted and a full driver weight string alignment, I thought I'd get a start on the interior pieces I could trim myself.
Entire dashboard trimmed in Genuine BMW alcantara bought straight from the manufacturer in Germany. Turned out alright I think...
I know what you mean. I'm thinking if I spank it sideways into a wall or barrier then they'll come off by themselves.
Work on the railway, always jobs going but you'll be with the other 6-12,000 that apply for them ?
Thanks man, I'm thinking of getting another cheap 182 once my Abarth...
Can get stainless ones, the flap does stick after time but can be wired up to be "open"
There's just no quality to the Bombardone at all, suppose I've been spoilt with Akras and titanium exhausts on these!
I'm on it! Just sent off loads of interior parts to LG Trimming so he can work his magic on them.
Neither am I, but I hate to see what's underneath if I took them off plus it kind of has an entire carbon skirt around the bottom of the car which while it's adding weight - I think it compliments...
I think so too, longer plate fills it nicely. Think I'll daily the longer plate but go shorter one on track as it saves 26g ?
Here's a sneak peak of the gearknobs origin. I think it's slightly different than the Golf gearknobs, slightly softer rubber im led to believe..
Next up, some new square wheels from BBS and some extortionately expensive Dunlop Direzza Dz03G tyres.. hoping they'll make the difference after running every other semi slick on the ring so far, thought I'd save the best till last.
Also managed to get the private plate on, some say it's...
I think they do too, Bilstein Clubsports were coming in at £1000 less than these. But after seeing the results on other M3's with the Nitrons it had to be done.
I had a budget to build it all in preparation for the end of this month, so far I'm on track to have it completed.
Sometimes you've...
The plan is to build an E92 that can lap a BTG LapTime of 7:2X consistently so with the help of a specialist that's going to be setting up the car - I ordered these custom made Nitron R3's. As you can tell, I got rather excited opening them! Works of art and quite proud to have some British made...
New front brakes that have gone on, AP Racing 9960 callipers with S Vane AP Racing discs with Ray Bestos ST45 pads. Absolutely next level stopping power. I had these on my E46 about a year ago.. couldn't rate them high enough so had to get them again.
Next up, I changed the gear knob. If you know - you know.
I then decided to fit my brand new Recaro SPA's I've had sitting around for 4 months. New Vac motorsport adaptors, harness receptacles and all Recaro runners.
If you have a bigger waist than 33" you're not fitting into these...
E46 for nimbleness, steering feel and MPG.
E92 for everything else.
Thank you, the wings are staying. I may be raising the GTS wing higher up onto the bootlid so may give more of a breakup at the rear.
After a week of literally not being able to put the keys down and having bought some more shares in Shell petrol, I thought I'd give it a clean.
The first clean of a new car is always quite daunting I find. You look at little details that you'd never normally see when just looking over the...
Thought I'd make a little build thread on here, I regret not doing so for my previous M3 CS. So the idea with the V8 is to make a ringtool that is still driveable on the British roads.
My previous M3 I owned for 3 years, but after an old guy drove into it in January, I knew it's days were...
Great attention to detail, makes for a good read. Not always so bad buying your old car back then?
Andy has to be the best painter I've seen, love seeing his work on Instagram.
There can't be much left to do to this? Most of its factory fresh now!
My brothers been running 245hp on his Garrett for over a year now, absolutely no problems and it's driven hard and on track.
Garrett turbo
599GTO Bosch injectors
Decat downpipe
Akrapovic dxhaust
Airtec intercooler
Forge dumpvalve
Forge intake kit
Custom remap
As for the bombardone exhaust...
Been following this from the start, from afar. As others have said I wished that you got the results you had hoped for with all of the traders along the way, sadly it was not meant to be.
You must be one of the most optimistic and patient people I've ever read on a forum where it's been a case...
Wow. Share your sentiments about the engine, looks like you've pretty much made it perfect.
I'd change the wheels/colour to silver/shark fins, give it a cleaner look to match the paint. That's superb, it really is - credit to you.
