Just got the engine back from the shop. Waiting on the big ends for now so thought I'll put the head back together.
Bare head. All cleaned.
New valve stem.
Waiting on 2 valves.
Bottom end tomorrow.
Should have got the suspension components back last week but I somehow forgot about them...
The washer holds the rack on the flat bit so it doesn't undo itself. As for replacement I'm not too sure. I have been trying to get some new ones but no luck yet.
We changed from TD to rota slipstream as TD were useless at getting orders out.
The rota are supposedly much stronger and better for all those curb riding.;) Not sure how much the 15 x 7 weighs though (15 x 6.5 5.1kg).
I wouldn't time on the day if I were you. Quick way to get kicked off plus it's your first time so concentrate on having some fun instead.
Is this through MSV themselves or someone else? If it is cheap enough then I might try and attend if the car is ever ready.
I'm using Nokian WR G2 on the daily driver in 205/55/16/ size and can't complain at all. Apparently they can be used all year round but haven't tried it yet.
Might even put these on the new car if the price is good.
It'll be fine for a and I think c. Do a search and plenty should be revealed on that.
I can't see any Hans post mounting so you won't be able to do it.
It is a long nose crank. The crashed donor is 1992 UK SE, my old one is 1992 Eunos V special and the shell is 1993 V Special. Seems I only know of one edition.
No luck will 2nd driver yet but still got time.
My extreme lightweight shell will offset the bad handling.;) Might need a push...
New shell finally arrived. It is a 93 1.6 V special that has just been imported from Osaka. Last know mileage is 129000km. Looked over it this morning and it is in very good condition with no rust.
The saftey devices cage has also arrived so ready to go in as soon as the interior is...
I know.;) I might pop down to watch but not going to bother prepping the car and taking the trailer down.
What would happen if you don't get enought numbers? I might be tempted to take another car if you need to fill the day.
I decided not to do this now as it is too close to april and just won't be good value for me. Going to Brands for more testing instead. Have fun though.
Full day:

I can't see when you looking to do this so count me in if it's early next year (feb/march).
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
I read most of the thread (it is 195 pages afterall) and must say I'm impressed with your skills.
I'm under the impression that you'd need B+E license to tow pretty much anything that can carry a car. Most car trailers I seen have a MAM of around 2000kg...
I was hoping they got rid of the R26 and you could use the M3's.lol As long as you passed it doesn't matter. I guess they don't exactly require you to go fast but look for safe driving instead.
Have you got the details for who rebuilt your box? Mine may need new bearings so may aswell do it now.
Cheers tony. It is quite frustrating but luckily I have lots of overtime to take my mind off this for a while and to pay for more new stuff.
Also managed to get a donor car that got crashed into on the N/S door, same car my new engine is out of.:) Just need to get a trailer and pick up the new...
