Here's an intersting take on the problem...and some links to information I've not seen before with a lot more detail on how/why something as simple as one hole on a Mustang gasket that the RS engine doesn't want/need can cause the RS engine to warp itself into oblivion...
Nice. I've grown to really appreciate these. A mate has the 440 and he's now got the M performance exhaust on it...sounds immense. I should be getting a good go in it soon. For a slush 'box it's incedible.
Pictures? Rotating your phone 90 degrees before shooting will do actual wonders.
If it was metallic and they kept the blue calipers I genuinely would have found it hard not to order one. As it is though, and even considering the exclusivity of it...no ta.
If it's properly fixed, as I believe it is, then it'll still have full Ford warranty. I'm not like so many others worrying about if it's going to start leaking again, I'm just enjoying driving it, a lot. If it does happen again, Ford will deal with it again.
Grr, I'm starting to convince myself.
Not at all...I'm not sure why it would appear so.
My case has progressed with Ford CRC, I'm getting a call back from them on Monday...I'll be asking for everything.
Mmmmm. If only. I've sworn to myself not to buy more wheels, from past experience, it's the top of a very slippery slope.
In...
The early part of those 90 day charts above, where all the lines are really low...that was earning me £20-£30 per month. Since the beginning of this engine failure episode I've been averaging £20-£30 a day LOL
Nothing as yet. I still haven't yet called Ford CRC to ask what I'm going to get from them to support and document the change on my now non-original RS. I've seen today something technical from Ford on a 'cross drilled' something or other on the engine that looks like it's going to be rolled...
I did convince myself that mine wasn't running quite right, I was convinced I'd see something different between the before and after dyno power runs that would back that thought up. When that showed no such thing I looked through all of my fuel logs looking for something but again found...
Nope. Apart from the misfire on startup and the dwindling coolant level it performed exactly as it always did. Popped and banged when I'd expect it to, used as much fuel as it normally did, and traced the same curve at the rolling road. As I said in my video I think the 'problem' is only a...
LOLs
Nope, no back doors. I like the slightly chavvy but still classy (in my colour) RS just fine.
It's also now been posted on an Australian petrol head site in a "here's some news that really isn't news, but someone else reported on it as if it is news, so maybe it actually is news, so...
I'm really not and I have zero desire to be so.
As for the article, it's actually nothing new at all...they've just cobbled together some old news and, for reasons unknown to me, have chosen to reference my specific video. It's generated a bit of online debate though...and a lot of brand...
So this happened a few hours ago...
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/ford-focus-rs-engine-problem-confirmed-cause-white-smoke
It had nothing to do with me! I'm only aware of it because someone posted it in a comment on one of my recent videos...I'm enjoying watching the spike in...
It's meant to have enough revisions to make them properly watertight. Time will tell if they've got that right. There's meant to be a Feb 18 recall coming along to address for all owners so I'd seriosly doubt if they're about to commit to that project that they still haven't ironed out the bugs...
I am going to go with the datalog every single rpm and mile from day one with this one. Annoyingly I'll have to collect it during work time so I won't be able to get everything wired in until I get home on on whatever evening it is this week. Missing the first 15 miles upsets me. At least its...
I see it as fantastic news! I'm back to zero miles on my engine and it's come with a whole load of new parts and revisions...and hopefully a full fix to the problem of the leaking coolant...I'm still working on trying to find that out for sure though.
The new engine is in! Exactly on schedule which is promising. I haven't seen it yet, it has to be road tested first which should be happening on Monday but, subject to no teething troubles with it, I should have it back early next week.
I'd call them up and check what you were told again...I have no idea why they're charging you a per month fee for the extra boxes...a big major selling point of Sky Q is that you can add extra rooms for no ongoing charges, just the one off hardware and/or setup fee...well it was when we signed...
They're not billing you £12 per month for the multi room, as said above by others, you buy the hardware, the service is free.
The £12 a month is for the upgrade to Sky Q itself.
They genuinely have little awareness of my YT expolits...but they've been seeing me regularly for Fiesta, C-Max, and RS work over the last two years. I'm calm, polite, and much as you may not believe this, to the point about what I want and expect. They're just acting in the way that anyone...
Useful! Thanks Dan. REV1...that's a generic term or something specific to Ford?
It's now 2,876. Madness, it just keeps ticking upwards...my first "engine's gone" video is nudging 75k views as well.
I feel a good few trackdays are coming next year off the back of all this!
#viral #legend
In other news, my engine arrived at the dealership yesterday 3 days ahead of schedule, it looks like you may be right @imprezaworks
They called me to advise and also answered some of my questions. I said those answers weren't good enough, try again.
They're going back to Ford and...
I've given no thought to this whatsoever...it's not even occurred to me to ask. If I got the warranty extended that would be something I guess...but as I still have 4.5 years remaining of my original warranty that would be of little value or comfort as if it were to all go wrong again it'll do...
More and more are crawling out of the woodwork now. There's quite a few on their third engine!
I've been told by ore than a few Ford people that the issue is definitely fixed now although not one of them can tell me how.
When I know and understand that I'll maybe start believing it. Until then...
