Undoubtedly worth the wait my friend. Just ensure you know what to look for before purchasing, the nature of these vehicles, combined with low(ish) end price range means can live hard lives, which, without proper maintenance can spell disaster. I dived into my first purchase 5 years ago, little...
When I picked up my 182 a couple of months back, the previous owner had an AG 200 on his drive (amongst other things)... I must admit, it looked absolutely stunning in the flesh. If I was in the market for a 200, AG would definitely be top of the list.
Looked absolutely incredible in the above photographs, however I must agree that I feel pretty underwhelmed with the advert and its current state. Shame really, I barely come across these on the road anymore (last one I saw was Nick's from Pure Motorsport).
Many thanks for the replies, pipe is now capped and car feels good as ever. I'm guessing it had been disconnected for a while as I only discovered it by chance whilst cleaning the engine bay.
Thanks again guys!
Fantastic, thanks for getting back to me buddy.
Thanks a bunch for the response buddy.
Will the fact it's disconnected affect the performance in any noticeable way? Or can I just yank the thing off and remove the acoustic valve altogether when I get a couple of hours?
Many thanks again.
Hi all, just a quick question.
I popped open my bonnet today to find the hose photographed openly swinging around. For the life of me I can't locate where the far end of it attaches to - any ideas?
Hopefully somebody can shed some light on it - many thanks in advance!
Joe
Hi there Graham, you'll probably have to give the guys a little more to go on, as I believe rich consumption can be caused by a variety of different factors, and isn't specific to one problem (mine was caused by a duff thermostat).
That said, speak with the previous owner, see if they have any...
In all honesty, it's a lovely little first car without tinkering.
If there's one regret I have from being 17, it's pumping thousands into a 1.2 Clio Dynamique without thought. My best advice is to keep banking the money for a future purchase.
Also, regarding modification (lowering in...
And to answer your question, I don't think you're dumb to expect a decently maintained vehicle for £2000. I was in the market for a good while and saw plenty of well maintained examples at that mark up, however, you might have to settle on a different colour as RB and LY generally carry a slight...
The vehicle in the photo looks familiar. I'm pretty sure it has been listed and relisted several times over the course of the last few weeks. I'll reiterate what most people have said, be very vigilant with such a high mileage example with such a distinct lack of history. That said, all the best...
Judging from the description you've given, it's a no brainer.
There are much better examples available with both cup packs and recent belt changes (genuine ones) for much less.
I always judge my purchases based on the seller themselves, who, from the description you've given, seems anything but...
If you're referring to the plastic covering the dials (not sure you are) I just used a satnav suction mount on mine. Gently place it on the plastic, lock it to provide suction then give it a gentle pull. Hope this helps :)
Thanks buddy, but we'll substitute surfer with 'guy who's constantly getting chewed up and spat out by the north Cornish coast'... occasionally there's some surfing in there though, I swear
Haha, no way! The wheel is incredible, I'm led to believe it's now 4 years old? however you'd never believe it, it still looks factory fresh. Mossy advertised the car on the Sunday at 7.30am-ish... I was on the road heading to Sheffield by 8am, probably the quickest sale he's ever experienced...
Fantastic stuff, hope you're enjoying the UK! One of my good friends originated from SA, we always confused his accent with being Welsh though.
Any plans for the new car?
For anybody questioning the logic of the roof rack, it's not for the JDM Hellaflush Scene look (I promise!), it's more for the avoidance of this  (There's a girlfriend imprisoned in there somewhere...)
Hi all,
Having purchased my second 182 last week from @mossyv6 (Lovely chap with an extremely enviable garage!), I think a customary hello is in order!
The car itself is a 2005 FF 182 finished in the lovely Racing Blue with cup stripes. The mileage sits just under 89k, however the engine...
Looks fantastic, picked up an RB 182 last week also (albeit with the stripes).
Love the location also, brings back fond memories of flight training in a little Cessna.
In terms of modifying, I've heard fantastic things about the products offered by Pure Motorsport, might be worth a glance!
I'll definitely be observing this thread. I remember Nick from the Quay garage, thoroughly decent bloke and a real loss that he's no longer offering his services (although I'm delighted to hear Pure Motorsport is going from strength to strength). On a separate note, I wonder what happened to his...
That's stunning!
Expensive to maintain I'm guessing?
I'm in the market for a 3 series coupe at the moment, as soon I've sourced one I'll start hunting for a mk1 cabri or beetle.
You do see the occasional gem, however their owners tend not to bounce the rev limiter at every available opportunity haha!
Do you still own the cabriolet? Wouldn't mind one myself in the not so distant future...
I frequently pass the 'races' at Merryhill on a Friday on my way home from work.
Your statement is hilariously accurate, the streets are alive with the drone of redlining 1L engines; never fails to make me chuckle!
Most people I know avoid the area like the plague nowadays; the only person...
It's usually a pretty superb road to drive, but there was something about the small stream of rainwater running through it yesterday that made me uneasy haha!
Definitely still more fun than my daily commute through London :dead:
I need to scout some decent roads and make the most of my time up...
