Strange one this,
Other day driving to work, stop and handbrake light came on solid, no flickering like usuall when fluid/pads are low
, turn car off, drive a little bit and it goes off,
Brake fluid is fine, pads are fine, if i drive straight, no problem, take a roundabout (normal speed)...
@Matt e
Lol!
Cheers for that, im looking to get an Otto one, ive currently got a smaller tickford model of the RS :)
But a LY and a bigger RS would look good
But thats a hefty price tag lol
@LiquidYellDan Didnt realise you were taking pics lol, snapped me in action too!
Job well done in the end, have to go out properly in the focus soon.
Im always messing around with clios on the weekends but its been a while since a LY has been on the ramp, nawwww memories lol
(Mine having pure...
If you look to the right of the brake fluid reservoir (standing at the front of the car)
You should be able to see oil on the solver metal heatshield of the manifold, thats how i noticed mine and the smell has stopped for ages
I suggested immobiliser because usually if the key is starting to go...
It is a strange one, its just i cant remember my 182 ever feeling like that, and i picked up a 172 cup for a mate a few months back and drove it over the moors home,
Was giggling like a litte girl as i could throw it around with confidence (i'm far from an amazing driver)
Im still yet to give...
hi @AlexD1
does the red immobiliser in the centre of the clocks flash quickly when it fails to start?
in regards to the smell, mine used to have 'a smell', it was hot burning oil smell. the rocker cover gasket was leaking oil onto the manifold so it would smell in the cabin, the seal is only a...
Will also be following this, my brothers 182 feels 'vague'
When pushing on it just feels unsafe, changed rear shocks, slightly better and the next job is to refresh track rods etc
Strange one
Just a quick update, it cut out at 50/60 again on the dual carriageway
Got going again itself with flashing stop light
Pulled over, off and on, happy days
Drove another 30 miles fine
I dont know if its linked but the dual carriageway is half a mile from work, so car would still be cold when i...
last few weeks the idle has been lumpy on the clio (2003 1.2 16v) every now and again when cold, after the first 5 seconds of being lumpy it'll be fine, and it'll drive great, no issues at all,
Sunday i cleaned the throttle body out and it drove fine Sunday and to and from work Monday which is a...
As far as i know if you changed the lockset, you could swap the chip out of the current key and pop it in the replacement so you've only changed the physical blade and barrel so the chip will still communicate with the car
like yourself i cant see why not, i wouldn't have thought the bolts being different
we replaced the rear shocks on my brothers 182 few weeks ago and one of the ones we took off was just a general one from a motor factors so i'm assuming they would supply just a Clio shock and not a 'sport' one...
as above really, going to get the cambelt done on the 1.2, are the waterpumps from motorfactors any good or are they a known part to stay genuine for ?
cheers
Adam
sounds like when my clutch on my 1.2 went, pulled off at a junction, a bang but not a loud in your face bang, more like a thud, the clutch pedal had less feel to it, and it slipped all the way home for 35 miles lol
try driving at really low speeds full throttle in 5th and see if it slips, or...
glad to see the engines go on
my daily is on 125k now, bought it on 90k short of 2 years ago, needs another belt change, but all that its needed is a clutch, two rear wheel bearings and a thermostat housing. (and obviously consumables)
oil and filter every 6 months for £15 from euro car parts lol
@Ash J i bought some from renault few years ago when i had my 182
The part numbers should be on the bottom of the sticker
If i remember one was an updated one, but just had to cut like an inch of it off (bit about battery or something so you dont have two bits the same) but thats pretty much it
this happened to my clio beginning of the year, wrote off CAT C and bought it back, but being my daily i really didn't mind, hammered the boot floor straightish and i went to book it in for a VIC but there was a massive waiting list, but i wanted the car for work, the guy at VOSA said that it...
Thanks for all the comments, only thing i dislike about the interior is the seating position, its a little high but ive got used to it, the MK2 rs recaros and FRP seats are a popular swap but im not that desperate to change
Ill keep an eye on the 007p but it seems to be ok at the moment
