There are two things here that caused the collision @Paris 182 managed to avoid;
1. Wholly inappropriate courtesy
2. Taking a flash of headlights from someone you do not know as confirmation that a situation is safe
Why did the BMW stop to let the biker out?
To feel good that he'd helped one...
Yep. When it comes to fun these are right up there. The carrier bag thin comedy flexing sidewalls see to that. Even in a straight line you can get a bit of a weave on.
Aye, you're probably right.
Nope, my once a year outing is always mid-summer and Goodwood.
As @N0ddie says, for a small one that needs loading in...tricky. The big front chairs do limit access. For me, with 12 and 7 year olds, it is absolutely fine.
I was having an off day recently...I'm starting to love it now...helped by me giving the ST a thorough clean at the weekend (first time in five months) and loving the sight of it again.
In other news an ST 'Plus' is on the way it would seem. Speculation rife that it'll give 250 bhp but I can't...
Not possible, I let them scrap the exhaust as it was on its way out...I have the cat still, but that's the main point of restriction and a good 5 hr DIY job to swap it back.
As said above, it doesn't sound anywhere near that bad in real life...but it's there, and having had many many years now...
That does include £81 per month for what Mountune have had from me but other than that it's exactly what it's cost me to own it and cover the miles I have.
I'm a few weeks in with MR230 fitted now, I've had a chance for it all to settle in and get a feel for it.
My thoughts?
Don't bother.
MP215 is the sweet spot with the ST.
MR230 has lots going for it, f*ck loads more shove at all revs, but the exhaust is getting louder, the heat shield is now...
Ah, that's it!
I replaced both batteries in my keys a month ago and a few other owners have also been getting the key not detected warning.
2x CR2032. Done.
It should tell you what that's for as part of the startup when it cycles through "push clutch down and press start" and various other messages etc.
Possibly a door or seat belt or airbag sensor? Or that your TC/ESP is completely turned off!
I'm surpised there's so little negativity towards the interior. Apart from the three small gauges on top, the blue stitching and contours on the steering wheel, and the speedo/rev counter dial faces, the inside of that is identical to my wife's C-Max in almost every way. I still want one though.
Aye. 40psi and some 102RON fuel it is then :p
I remembered today when poking about in my shed that I left part of the intake setup off when reassembling everything after fitting the last of the MR230 kit...it's only a 10mm wide rubber gasket, but it seals the join between the front grille...
Wow. Good effort with the results, videos and pictures Tim!
Was a good day yesterday, weather was good for a February session, lots of friendly faces, lots of petrol related banter.
Mine's being serviced on Tuesday...I'm going back to Charlie ASAP after for another run...I know it has 230PS in it!
Also, after along weekend and lots of miles so far, I drove into our village to pick up a curry and almost decorated the inside of my car with it. I still can't quite work out how he didn't see me...
Take the reliable and consistent Surrey Rolling Road and add...
1. one MR230 2013 Fiesta ST
2. the dyno data file from previous run when MP215
3. a hardcopy graph from SRR comparing MP215 with standard
4. a ruler
5. a little help with the maths from Excel
4. one of my daughter's green felt tip...
F***, that was luck/unlucky. Glad all OK.
Congratulations on coming clean...is this a CS first?
Driver makes mistake. Driver admits driver made a mistake. Driver invites comments about driver making a mistake. Odd.
Its power is the same and its weight, its wheelbase, and its track are within kilos and millimetres of a Clio 200.
Only it's rear wheel drive, has a locking diff, and a centre of gravity 400 mm off the deck.
There's nothing wrong with that at all. The problem is everyone sees the price and...
More than worth it!
I brimmed the tank last night, reset the trip MPG, and today attempted my now traffic light strewn stop/start commute to see what I could squeeze out of it. 20 mile round trip to and from work and I now have just shy of 46 MPG showing. If anything I think MR230 has made it...
I stand corrected!
I can only find one unmanipulated data file where I hadn't converted the boost data to a percentage of maximum, and in 20 minutes of driving, going from tickover to limiter in each gear, I recorded a max boost of 1.33 bar.
So;
Standard = 1.33 bar
MP215 = 1.44 bar
MR230 =...
