"Maximum authorised mass ( MAM ) means the weight of a vehicle or trailer including the maximum load that can be carried safely when it's being used on the road. This is also known as gross vehicle weight ( GVW ) or permissible maximumweight"
Whats the towing weight limit of the trailer ? The rules are set on the maximum towing weight (plated weight) and not the actual weight of the trailer and load.
Is there really a need for an additional fuse ? All you're doing it relocating the battery thus extending the power cables to back to the original power points, not installing a new circuit ?
What's the MAM of the trailer you've hired ? What's the kerb weight of your towing car ? Does it exceed 3,500kg ?
Just asking as i had a trailer with a MAM of 2000kg and the kerb weight of my towing car was abount 1700kg so that put me over the 3,500 kg !
I passed my test in 1999.
Last update of the year......
Got some bits back from the sandblaster and powder coating:
So the engine bay, particularly on the left side was looking a bit battered. I decided i would give it a rub down and paint along with painting the scuttle bit where there was sound deadening. I also...
I believe ESP uses the ABS system to "stabilise" the car as part of the ESP program so i don't think it'll ever work but i read that it also has some control over the engine power ?
I've removed the ABS from my 182 FF Cup so does that mean ESP won't work now ? Does ESP only work with the ABS rather than the engine management ?
Cheers,
Adam
Starting mocking up the driving position, seat, steering wheel and pedals. Until the engine and box are back in, i can't judge whether i'll need to move the shifter back. I'll be getting a PMS short shifter but i don't know if that changes it current position and throw.
I did say it was a long term track car project didn't I ?! 😂
Finally got my large 1m x 1m drip tray so that i could clean the engine bay and wheel arches. Hasn't come out too bad. Need some touching up in places and i'll be stone chipping the wheel arches.
It was my birthday yesterday and i got some Sealey AS3000 axle stands:
Capacity Each: 2.5tonne
Capacity Pair: 5tonne
Minimum Height: 475mm
Maximum Height: 700mm
Giving me plenty of room under the car now.
Also picked up a DCI rack.....
Subframe and front suspension came off today. Some bits will be cleaned and painted, others maybe shot blasted and power coated depending on cost...
Got the wishbone bushes out...
Oh and little more tar...... Bloody hate this stuff !
