    Wifi/Internet problems

I dont like to assume , so I didnt know if you had a point to point cable , or running over powerline for instance. Hence question. As you have now established I think a cat6 cable would suffice. What model Deco do you have? I have the Deco XE75 and I dont use a cable, I let the satellites...

    Wifi/Internet problems

The speed difference could be many things including RF interference either from the original deco or from another device. You dont mention the connectivity between the two deco devices. The link between the two could also have fault. If possible drop the hardwire between the two and use the...

    Wifi/Internet problems

Are you hardwire testing both hubs? Compare them when wired. It could be something like a QoS policy doing some magic on the deco

Crickey. Rock and hard place Nik here I think. The demand is always going to be up this year as people have known about the event longer and of course I am attending so thats an obvious attraction right there. I would be tempted to increase the numbers ever so slightly more - perhaps by 5? I...

    R35 GTR

In the s3 range, yes. In the s2 no. That was a 4 cylinder Perhaps, but as I haven't driven one I am not comparing. Ant is also not considering one in this thread so its a pointless comparison. I am not familiar with what a comaprison is , but I suspect its similar to a comparison. I think you...

    R35 GTR

Have you driven a GTR? You know it feels substantial in terms of size on the road? The V6 is similar. The torque of the V6 combined with the supercharger makes the Lotus very easy to drive. You are not constantly stirring the gearbox to keep it on the boil. Despite the semi auto box on the...

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

I am a OLED convert for the main house TV. I am a little paranoid about using OLED as a desktop , however pixel shift is softening the blow.

Sim Rigs - Let’s see yours

I have a 3090 oveeclocked to 11 and water cooled. I note that Samsung have a 20% off offer at the moment too. I currently have a HP G2 VR but find I get knackered quickly with VR. If the g9 is the bees knees , what’s the next one down?

I am after an ultrawidescreen. There are 5.7million to chose from. Anyone actually using one and can recommend? Id like whatever the 4K width equivalent is but realise I am limited to 1440p vertical.

    R35 GTR

Size and feel from my experience. Both feel grown up , the v6 more nimble. Both you can be lazy in due to the v6 or turbo or be on it!

I hear you. I am contracting with a large multinational food manufacturers. Recently there has been a push towards automation without governance so you , me , fred the cleaner can request a service account that belongs to a privilege group. Its going to be a long transition from a tradtional password. They are so engrained in every aspect of our IT life. Until we can get systems where a giant SSO is used for everything ( entra? ) and systems are able to plug in to it we are done for. Windows hello is a good step towards that but...

I think once you are in , you are in with storage. I know that for £60k (ish) 200TB of Dell EMC storage can be bought and then depreciated over say 5 years. The snag I can see with vSAN is again licensing. Its another license. Swings and roundabouts I guess.

One more. I assume you have several blades or equivalent packed with disk. I get that if in a chassis it’s going to be rapid, but if split across sat a series of DL360 then it wouldn’t be quite so quick as has to traverse over a network? It’s really only suitable for a hyper converged...

The 'I work in I.T' thread

It’s not quite as simple as the FCOE is faster than FC. It’s all about the setup. I typically run 4*32s together, all active per host. Also have some mad ninja dedupe and compression that’s guaranteed 3:1 at the storage level I appreciate that having the data on a back plain is faster...

Why would I change from the traditional model of SAN --> FC --> ESXi host to a vSAN? Am I right in saying the benefits are + No SAN admin needed + Just present a disk pool and I can integrate it +Storage is local therefore no need for a SAN
