Fred and James’ Clio 182 Racecar Project

Protrack wheels look superb, i was looking at these last year but they didn't have anything smaller than an 18" at the time. Did you get a rim weight for a15x7" at all?

    Show off your beading

Pretty pleased with it really. It’s been polished once in the last 2 years, does 250/300 miles a week in all weathers and all I do is wash and BSD/Reload. Occasionally I have some tar spots to remove but very little else really.

Suspension debate ? Kw V2's , bc racing coilovers , cup shocks with uprated springs

Had KW Clubsports on the Impreza which were superb, but quite a different damper to a V2. Very well made though, id be happy with KW products again and would probably be my go to for the Clio if they still made them for our platform.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Already got one as it ducks under the brake duct before coming back up to the filter. Failing that I’ll pop to Screwfix. 🤣

This was utter perfection when Niall owned it. One of my favourites. ☹️

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

This is something I’m going to monitor. However I tried to prove this theory out by firing my jet washer at the intake with the engine running and zero water made its way to the top of the feed. All I can do it test it and see.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

So I’ve fitted up the inlet adapter properly and repeated the test. It would appear as though the ACT drops to ambient much faster than before. I had a 22c ambient and after a small cruise I let the car idle for a few minutes and temps rapidly rose to almost 50c. Moving off and back to cruise...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

So following up with @04-182 about this, I wanted to be able to attach the feed to the ITG but not sealed as I didn’t want to provide a restriction. I wanted the intake to be able to breathe from both the feed and inner wing. A bit of head scratching and drawings too and from and @04-182 has...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Cheers chap. Craig and I have been swapping ideas about this for months and months now, and what with both of us having young families etc it’s taken a bit longer than expected. Craig has been working very hard on getting all the I’s dotted and T’s crossed to get us this far. Laser cutting...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I can crack on with a Cup holder with Craig (@CFAB) now this is mostly complete. We have a couple of bracket/net tweeks to sort before Craig can make a batch of Clubsport bars/nets.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

i looked at that and reading from tests others have done, it provided too much restriction in their testing. So I was only hoping to aim a good chunk of cold air at that area. 😅

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Just been out to try some “very” basic testing. Dead simple, put a k type thermocouple into the inlet tract of the ITG and had it wired to a multimeter in the car. Ambient on the car dash was showing 16c and the multimeter was flickering between 15/16c so that was bang on. Driving the car from...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Airflow is a t**t to measure at the best of times. But I think the easiest is to put a thermocouple in the air intake to the filter and measure the air temp with and without the feed. If I get a drop in ACT then it shows it’s working.

    Farmers Fayre/Caffeine & Machine Meet 2!

What…!! You mean C&M aren’t as all inclusive as they spout to be? Shock horror! Lol. Balls to that, I’d park my French box at he front door just to annoy em. 🤣

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Cheers chap. @04-182 really pulled out the stops creating my idea exactly as I imagined it. Makes for a really clean and discrete feed and leaves the foglights clear to do their job on the brake cooling.
