Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Time for a grown ups car… Alright, it’s a nobby colour but it’s has 4 doors, isofix and not a cage or harnesses in sight. Facelift Megane 300 Trophy Ex Renault UK Press car Liquid Yellow Recaros Trophy R Fujilight wheels and S007 rubber. 640 miles from new. I had it serviced, 4 new tyres...

I’ve driven a 275 Trophy R (some while ago) and a Meg 300 Trophy more recently. I think the big change between the 2 is the massive step up in cabin quality. The Mk4 Meg feels like a much more premium product. Certainly the most premium Renaultsport product I’ve driven. As above though...

If you have the means to keep the Clio and try something else with a small overlap, I’d do that first.

Still looks tidy bro. I’ve no doubt you’ve had this conversation with yourself a lot mate, but what are you looking for from the next car that the Clio doesn’t give you? I had to run a small errand in mine tonight through the lanes out to Bradwell and it hit me so hard just how good it is to...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Thanks mate. I suspect it won’t sell either. I’ve got a nice mix of people telling me it’s a bargain and others saying it will never sell. I suspect the latter. For those that will ask - I’m looking for £8k as it will break for way more than that without too much drama. (I’ll await the...

Most likely. I don’t expect it to sell at all tbh.

Seats, space, usability. It’s just not that kinda vehicle mate with child seats and the like.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Thanks so much Steve. The biggest problem is how do you price it? I can only really go off what it would break for and the insurance value. It’s had an agreed value for the last 4 years of £8k after the insurance company viewed it in person. Clios don’t sell though do they, people want...

Thanks dude, you’re super kind. However she’s just about to clip 170k now, the guys at the Renault dealership didn’t believe me when I said it’s miles. 😅

Still here, still adore the Clio, still my daily driver. Recently had another full service and refreshed the RCK bearings up front again. Still drives absolutely amazing and looks incredible for its 20 years of service. However I went to look at another car yesterday as it’s really proving a...

    Engine Mounts - Opinions please.

Go high quality pattern part like Febi etc. VT are okay but you will get a lot of additional NVH. Some people say they have had no additional NVH, and that may be true. However, in my experience, every time I've used VT or similar on any vehicle, they're not a nice addition to a street car. I...

I agree. They look nice but I think it’s the bigger tyre that looks so much better. The silver Evos look soft with the PS3s on. The grey ones and Toyos look hard as nails.

In theory it would be worth it. But I’ve got belts due at the end of the month too plus the Cayman service etc. I just can’t really do it.

Cheers guys. Id like to do more of the 2 pack stone chip underneath at some point. It goes off like concrete and is super hard wearing.

Paint all done by a friend of mine, VJB Classics here in Maldon. Reasonably new business as they were part of JD Classics and decided to go out on their own last year. These 2 lads have spent the last 20 years prepping cars for Pebble Beach, Mille Miglia and Classic LeMans. Their work is...

For those that don’t follow my Instagram (@Its_Just_a_daily). Here’s a pic dump of the latest goings on. In short, she’s had paint on the front due to a hit & run back in February and a sympathetic freshen up of a few key areas. Captured some micro bubbling in the rear qtrs before they became...
