Yes mate. Cheap as chips. They’re exactly the same items as previously fitted. I’d like to upgrade to some stainless ones if possible and add some dust boots.
When Alex had the car this week he noticed there was some play in my OS bottom ball joint. These are spherical bearings as part of my roll centre kit.
As you all know, my car is my daily driver which covers 250mls+ a week in all seasons and all weathers.
So the exposed bearings really do take...
You know that a really slick looking publication and a nice refreshing read compared to the usual run of the mill hypercar and EV babble.
Well done to all involved :) Even a Cayman R in there too.
Putting the oem cat back in on my PMS has been a game changer for me. I’ve always loved it but lately got bored of having a noisy car.
It’s like having a whole new motor. 😅
Just back from Alex at AWM after it needing a bit of love after developing an oil leak around the sump again. This was done last in 2019 when i bought the car back, but after after a bit of head scratching it was decided to give it a whole new sump and gasket etc. Alex also fixed a small coolant...
Not sure where youre based but is there a local Clio group where you could put out a "wanted" post to see if someone has an Ultraleggera you could just test fit?
Maybe even email OZ in Italy to see if they can send you a template you can print, cut out and test fit?
Great updates as always chaps. My PMS is silent but its taken a lot of work to get it there but im very interested in the prospect of a quality shifter thats silent out of the box without the need to add mass to the shift tube etc. Keep me posted if you explore this avenue please. :)
Thanks mate. Amazing that photos hide a multitude of sins. The car is actually filthy here as I’ve had a downpour for the last few days. Clean wheels make it all look clean haha.
Silver wheels change it so much.
You're doing the right thing mate.
Loads of people out there will tell you they or their mate has XYZ wheels on. Then negate to say they have spacers, ground calipers, machined bracket etc etc. Also worth asking those who you know are running the Wilwood kit. Brigsy is as is Thomas Brentnal...
Okay so you already have a component set. These are made up of a 5.25” mid driver in the doors and a set of tweeters in the dash.
Coaxials are a combined mid driver and tweeter in one speaker. I’m saying either fit a whole new component set including new tweeters in the dash or just buy some...
Yes they will still work, however depending on how the stock system is setup will alter how they perform. If the OEM signal frequencies are split at the speakers then your Coaxials will perform as intended. If the frequencies are split at the head unit then your coaxials will only be receive mid...
How much do you wanna spend? I upgraded everything in the Clio to Focal and did quite a bit of sound deadening. I opted not to spend anymore as there's a limit to how good they're going to sound ion the stock locations in a 17 year old French tin box.
Mine are driven by an Alpine HU and Focal...
Winter wheels have landed in the shape of another set of @evocorsewheels X3MA, this time in bright silver.
Hopefully get some ceramic coat and rubber on these this week and get em on. 🙂
It’s all of the things you mentioned. Those Evol solid dogbones are shite. Anything solid like that will have zero “give” in it at all. Add to that the stiff engine mounts, and cheap dampers.
All that NVH will be coming straight into the cabin.
Personally if it’s just staying on road I’d fit...
Wouldn’t bother with a V band unless you’re 100% set on having that exhaust and you’re happy with it. VHT silicone is more than adequate and all the BTM exhausts are like it. Mine wore a BTM for years with just VHT silicone between the flanges.
If you fit it and you love it, get a V band added...
Ah right, that explains it. The PMS kit is designed to accommodate their 285mm x 26mm 2 piece kit and with that on the TD 1.2s won’t even go near without a substantial spacer. Spacers make my car drive like s**t so wasn’t prepared to entertain that or start grinding brand new calipers. Lol
So...
I bought a set when my Brembos went on and Alex at AWM went to offer them up to my car. With the PMS 285x26 kit they wouldn’t go near. Wanted minimum of a 15mm spacer.
The solution always looks so simple and straightforward. The route getting there is often far from straight however. Great job fella.
Instal looks clean. 🙂
