Anything is possible , but it would have to be in exactly the right place otherwise the mapping would be wrong , so a section of the bellhousing is perfect for the job , I have done it now , I was contacted by a member on here only up the road from me who had a knackered gearbox I bought for a...
Finally managed to get the engine to the dyno yesterday in plymouth , it will take around a week to do so with the hold ups this week I'm going to struggle to get it back in the car and rolling roaded before christmas now , just seems to be dragging on now and getting fed up of it lol , I cut a...
Just picked up a knackered gearbox off a member on here and its only in cardiff so picking it up in the morning , yes its in the standard position , and is a standard sensor , I'm fitting a standard flywheel which makes it easier if it needs changing , I haven't long fitted a brand new flywheel...
What time could I pick it up ? or could you leave it in the garden and i'll put the money in an envelope and put it through the letter box and pick it up in the morning ?
I'm after a knackered gearbox if anyone has one , I'm actually after the top section of the bellhousing as I need to hold the crank sensor in place when it goes on the dyno , so i'm after the top section of the bellhousing to hold the sensor and bolt it onto the engine , does anyone have a...

To put my car on the dyno I need a section of gearbox to fit the crank sensor on and bolt it to the engine , does anyone have a broken gearbox I can cut a section of the bell housing off
Cheers Ian
sorted the manifold out on the weekend and its a perfect match to the head now
Going to take the engine to the dyno is on hold tomorrow as Fred didn't have time to send some stuff I need , hopefully I will get them tomorrow so I can go thursday , times ticking away now and am really hoping to...
The guys name who rewired the car for me is in post 633 , its Gary Owen.
The engine is being dynoed by Alvin in Plymouth who does all of John Reads Engines , and plenty of others , he did my Golf engine
Yes injectors would help lol , can you sort me one of your exhausts out and bring it with you ? 172 twin box stealth , to match a 182 manifold.
I'm only dropping the engine off this week , as they have not done a 172 engine yet they don't have mounts to fit it to the dyno , so they will be...
Yes that is what I am doing now , but the port in the manifold is smaller than the posrt in the head , i'm welding the groove up , machining it flat and porting the manifold to suit my ported head , and fitting a gasket on
Looks all straight forward , just a ball ache ! Will find out in 2...
Found a problem with the Jenvey inlet manifold which I'm sorting out as the engine is off to the dyno on wednesday , they have started machining a groove on the face that mates up to the head which you fit an 'O' ring into , the problem I have is my ports are too big and the manifold needs...
Well the rally has been cancelled this weekend through lack of entries so have stripped the car now , engine and box is out as of last night , so box is going back to SWR for them to sort the gear change issue out , so the Clio cup race car engine , engine loom , Magnetti Marrelli ecu and...
if you have only hit and bent one you can change just the one , would be very surprised if it has only bent one , you can fit any make valves in , don't think many standard copies will be as good as an original , and the original ones won't be as good as supertech ones
Went down to the workshop to drop it off at the electricians so took a couple of photo's of it looking fresh , pictures make it look a bit orangey , but its a nice bright red
If I could figure out a way to fit the engine and box out of my M3 it would certainly shift then lol :D
Why don't you just change the outer cv joint , you could do it without taking the shaft off , should be able to get joints for £20 or so , I just bought genuine GKN ones for £50 each
I got a set of supertech valves direct from the US for just over £200 , when I sent my head off to CNC heads they said the guides were worn and changed them , cost me about £200
Just a quick update of whats been going on with my car , Fred called down this week and delivered my engine , so will be sorting out putting it on a dyno in the next week , Fred's coming along as well so he can play about with the cam timing if needed , had the car back from the bodyshop this...
It was in one piece when I seen it , we left around midday though , was there much damage to it ?
Yeah I seen the tank inside , wondered why it was like that .
any idea what spec the engine is , it didn't seem that good considering it was on jenveys , hope mine better lol
