Give it a good wiggle and hope for the best.
I've dismantled seatbelts in the past and there's not a great deal to it. You have little to lose by giving it a go. Just watch out for the metal strip that is likely to unwind and hit you in the face. A replacement from a breaker won't be much.
Seems odd that they have taken the cars somewhere to sort it and had no luck, and asked if you knew of anything suitable - as if to say the place they took them had no idea about cleaning cars.
Perhaps have a local valeting/detailing company come over for a look to quote, and then invoice the...
If you buy the right bits (used) you effectively could spend thousands and only lose maybe hundreds by selling them again when you move on. Think of it as renting upgrades.
I had similar once.
Got to the stage where the car would lock and unlock whilst driving - sometimes constantly . And if you happened to be near the car when it had been previously locked, you'd sometimes hear it lock and unlock on it's own.

Gumtree has no more wasters than your average forum IMO.
If you can tie your own shoelaces and have common sense you can buy a car advertised on Gumtree successfully. It's just an advertising platform at the end of the day.

Here's a query for you guys:
What usually causes iPhones to crash whilst browsing Safari?
I get it occasionally on my 5S and had it on my 4S previously. I've become used to it. You'll be flicking through a thread on a forum or a web page and suddenly it will throw you out. When you reopen...
I had the same issue and bought a backbox from ECP for about £30. You could tell it was a cheap pattern part as the fit wasn't ideal - mostly due to the box being much taller and fouling the heat shield and that it sounded a bit crap. It got me out of a hole though when the OE one actually fell off.
See, the ability to copy and paste which I use umpteen times a day, is much more of a concern from a usability point of view, than to purely upgrade for the sake of it.
I shall stick to what I know. Thanks for the feedback.
