Latest update;
Boot lid fell on my girlfriends head the other day, she was not impressed. So I finally got round to replacing the struts today.
Opted for magneti marelli replacements as they’re a very reputable brand, the Renault/airax ones seemed a bit steep for gas struts if I’m honest.
Also...
Would recommend ‘fixadent’, they seem to cover a lot of the south, particular guy I had called Ryan did a really good job. Took out all the door dings in my passenger door.
Before/after of the main offender;
Small update.
Bought a personalised reg which I’ll be putting on the car when the new plates are delivered.
Other than that, nothing to report over winter, it’s been faithfully carrying out its daily duties without any problems. I’ve kept use to a minimum more recently as well, what with all...
Again I think if abrasive stuff like that is the only option then I won’t bother, although from a bodywork perspective it’s the best option!
When she gets the car I’ll try a few bits and update on here!
That sounds pretty dangerous! I think if I have to resort to something like that I’d leave it. She couldn’t give a crap about it anyway, it’s only me that’s bothered haha
Apologies, I worded it badly. I didn’t mean remove the scratches, but I have previously managed to hide similar marks with a bit of SRP and black hole. But the main thing is getting rid of this crappy touch up pen. Thinking maybe clay bar or failing that tar remover might work? Considering it...
My girlfriend has bought a grey corsa, the dealer seems to have touch-up penned two lacquer scratches (white marks, probably from a trolley blow or similar).
I wondered if anyone knew if there was a way of removing the touch up pen so I can polish the scratches out??
Armed with a DA, but assume...
To be fair It’s far too cold to spend any kind of time messing around with cars anyway! I planned on doing a lot more than this but the weather had other ideas [emoji849]
Depth of winter now.
Since October's update I did in fact fit powerflex mounts into the old exhaust hangers. Keeping the brand new OE ones to put back on whenever I see fit. Genuinely only fitted them to get the exhaust tips dead central in the cutouts.
I have also renewed my insurance. Now...
Braved the cold this afternoon and gave it a wash. Had a day off work and didn't want it to go to waste!
(FYI this was taken in between washing the wheels, and washing the car)
Haha, that colour choice is so accurate it's unbelievable! I'm searching for a new car for her at the moment and nothing will get a look in unless it's black, grey or white!
I second the 'no opinion as long as it works' view, I think she thinks it's neat it has air con/cruise and a Bluetooth radio(aftermarket) etc, but would much rather I had something slower, German and about 10 years newer!
Oh and I get told I spend too much money on it in tax/insurance/servicing...
Passed the MOT with no advisories [emoji1303] tax and insurance due in December, then need to look into cambelt etc being done next year! [emoji15][emoji389]
Here's a photo from the summer, love the size difference! [emoji592]
Winter time! Done a few little things since the last update, and it's MOT time next week.
Following on from the new centre exhaust hangar, I replaced both rear hangars too, keeping the old ones to shell and potentially fit powerflex to in the future.
Another small change, I swapped the...
I think the 'most famous ever' part is definitely pushing it a bit, clarkson is hardly a Renault sport icon, but it is a kindve cool history for a car to have [emoji1303]
Just appeared for sale for 700 quid on the csoc page. Would love to see this bought and restored, needs a lot of work though... Anyone on here fancy it!? [emoji1303]
Thanks both, seems that they both do as good a job, I think you're right about the helitape and will invest in some of that too. Genuine Renault seems hard(er) to come by, but cheaper on the secondhand market than Thule, so maybe I'll hold out for some Renault ones appearing on here!
Many...
Just bought a new bike, don't want a dirty bike in my car.
Wondered if anyone has any roof rail recommendations that (almost)definitely won't mark the paint or be too much hassle to fit!
So if people can do brand recommendation (Thule vs genuine Renault) and personal experience that would be...
