Appreciate that Chris, so in a round about way it seems the 8J works with the offset by asking a company on FB who are selling Turinis in 18".Trouble is I'm tempted to go up to 18s now! So my 8J with ET49 could work on paper..... Fingers are crossed still
Brilliant thread, an enjoyable read through. It's certainly been testing at times for you but commend the effort gone in to keep them both on track. Subscribed for updates, love threads like these.
Neither, for some reason the engineering shop have that sign on the wall. I'm paying a company to machine the centres for me. I've DIY painted a few wheels over the wheels and I'll paint these ones too, only if they work out on the Clio otherwise I'll just sell them on
Dropped a pair off at the wheel place after work today and will be ready for the same time Tomorrow. If I wasn't so busy tomorrow evening I would have trial fitted them, so Thursday it is.
I believe the Megane offsets are worse then the EDC? ET60s, saying that the Subaru wheels tend to have a higher ET than most (around the 50 mark) so they'll stick out half inch more but not past the arch.
Honda, Toyota, Lexus, Mazda are 5x114.3. The only downside I've found is most of the...
What do you have that's 5x114.3 per chance? Ideally I wish the Turinis were 18" so I could just swap the tyres over, nether the less the Clio comes on 17s as std so I know it will work.
Rally track wheels for Vauxhalls are ten a penny too, I found this when buying OZ tarmac wheels for the Clio...
Just to enlarge the centre bore, as the wheels are there he said he can skim the rears at the same time for a little extra. He did say a one off would be nearer £40 so I imagine that's the time in setting up the machine, once it's done he can just crack on with the other 3. From my crude...
Just booked the wheels to go in tomorrow after work, £25 each to have the centrebores machined out. Its a next day pick up so hopefully Thursday latest
Me too! Itching to trial fit them so I'm calling the engineering company tomorrow to get them in hopefully for Tuesday. I think white will make the difference, I think they need to be that opposed to black or anthracite otherwise I feel they'll be 'just' another wheel.... But not whacky in colour.
He was surprised I was travelling up from Essex! To be fair I had a result as he actually lives in North Wales but agreed to drive an hour to Shrewsbury to make the deal. He did say in the ad he'd be willing to travel a certain distance. You don't get if you don't ask and for what it costs in a...
I'm thinking outside the box Ian, I want to try something different. No one's really changed wheels on the EDC apart from Tom Cazneaux with the HLTs, I fancy a change in appearance and think the Turinis will do that.
Thats good to know if I need it, more so on the back as the fronts have more tolerance in the arches.
OE wheel 7.5Jx18 ET55
Speedline 8Jx17 ET49
TD Pro Race 7Jx17 ET40
The TDs do work, my number crunching on the Speedlines suggest they'll stick out another 6-8mm than the TDs... Which is just...
The Speedlines are edging it for me at the moment, I like the fact the spokes go right to the edge of the rim and they're fairly flat. Unlike the TDs that roll down towards the rim and also do it more rolling towards the bolts at the centre.
Cheers! As the saying goes.... It's worth the extra mile for the right things. Like any petrol head it's hard to explain to other people that it's worth driving that far, waste of time, waste of a Sunday but to me it's a day out anyway. Well a morning as I'm back by lunchtime.
I should stop browsing Ebay really, I'm a sucker for wheels. 9pm last night these came up on my radar in the 5x114.3 search. By 10pm I'd agreed to buy them and pick them up.
So after 385 miles and 7 hours driving to Shrewsbury and back this morning these are wheel option 2 for the EDC...
Absolutely love it, one of these is my potential next purchase. I have the Meg 1.9dci and could do with the extra boot space so this fits the bill. Meg 225 front bumper with xenons, PCD adapters to fit the R26 wheels.... Done.
I like it on the Porsche rims
If only the bods would go to the Eiffel event just to see how well it does, a no brainer it generates money to the local areas in all ways. Just embrace what it has to offer, on the night stage we stood in the neighbours front garden watching the rally cars. The Bitburger beer stand was in...
The organisation gone into this event is second to none, it's down to the punters to choose where they want to view. Everyone is so friendly, food and drink is always on tap with the option to bring your own. We went to the local supermarket and bought in crates of Bitburger for the evenings...
