Thats the difference between a proper track car and the average joe who takes their road car on the occasional track day.
I agree, my idea of a proper cage is fully stitched, gusseted and as close to the roof/pillar line as possible. Wouldnt stop me adding a rear clubsport cage to my road car...
Wouldnt say its a show cage, if its a Fulcrum item it will be of a nice standard, its just a rear cage that would hold the roofline in the event of going over. But in reality, its far from a car specified for motorsport use as the advert states.
No different to any other trackday clubsport...
Good call if youre having them refurbished anyway. Thats what id do.
After the first place managed to scratch 3 of the R wheels i had all 4 refinished by Exel Wheels (who PCGB recommend) and 4 brand new Cup2s put back on.
4 attempts it took them to do the wheels and get them exactly right to...
Agree pad choice is a big factor. Just wish the Brembos were a cleaner looking caliper. Having said that, the stock setup with good cooling has never let me down unless it has crap pads. I have no issues with the Pagids fitted except theyre dusty lol.
I agree, the quality of job should be irrespective of the value of the wheel. I take care of my things no matter if ive paid £50 or £5k for it, and id treat other peoples things with the same care as my own. I just find a good tyre fitter is rare as hens teeth these days which is a shame as we...
Yeah i think you may even get away with a 5mm spacer for the Brembos. Brembos to me look like a rather bulky caliper so i think if i was going to go larger, id look at the offerings from AP, Wilwood maybe?
@gambit and anyone else looking to run these on a Brembo setup.
2118s ET43 with a 10mm Slip on PMS spacer gives 29mm clearance from a stock caliper.
X3MA ET38 with no spacer gives 33mm clearance from a stock caliper.
Looks like I’m deffo going to have to clean up my arches and make my...
😂😂
I’ve got 10mm slip ons with the 2118s (ET43) as they have a tiny 2mm chamfer so still locate. My new wheels are ET38 and will probably run with a 5mm spacer. This is combined with the roll centre kit will bring the front out 10mm without messing up the scrub radius and will align with the...
Trouble is mate. When someone’s best is scratching 3 of your 4 Porsche wheels which are £7k a set. You get a bit fussy about it. That was the best wheel/tyre shop in the area by some way.
Annoyingly I’ve got a tyre machine and wheel balancer at work but due to the nature of what we do, I can’t...
I drive from Maldon in Essex to Ruislip.
I’ve had too many bad experiences with so called specialist tyre shops that turn out to be useless.
I think it’s the biggest agro getting anything done on a car. Now I’ll only use Richard Maguire at Ruislip Tyres. 😅🤦🏽♂️
Unless you go Ti then all the studs are motorsport items and just high grade steel. All of them will corrode I’m afraid. Giving them a liberal wipe of ACF50 will certainly starve off any corrosion for a good while.
If you stay with bolts then the Polarised items from TPI seem to stay nice for a...
That looks really smart. Do yourself a favour and dont go any more than 5mm spacers on the turinis. Due to the chamfer in the rear of these wheels, you cant run a laregr slip on spacer or you have nothig to locate the centre of the wheel on.
The experts of the internet will tell you its okay to...
No they will be bare, the R888s still have over 50% life so wil be going on my X3MAs.
Just need to do the 3 hour round trip to the only guy i trust to fit wheels and tyre properly. lol
De sticker it and sort the calipers and it will look night and day already.
Cracking base car for a project mate and agree 100% mileage on these is no reflection of conditon. Mines just about to clip 129k and ive seen some right sheds with less than half that number.
Also agree silver, lowered...
@gambit
Hope these help dude, I took some basic measurements for you from the hub face.
These are 15x7 ET38.
Also got them all sealed up with some KKD Revolve X. Kitchen makes for decent lighting, my Mrs doesn’t even bat an eye anymore. 😅
Coming from someone who last owned an original Xbox 360, In brief, what’s so special about these new consoles?
What does this have over a comparable PlayStation for example?
So what you're saying is, youre old enough to know better!
I too am ex blue oval, hence my jest. :)
Think they just called it the RenaultSport Clio200, same as the Clio 197, 182, 172 etc.
Congrats on the new wheels, looks ver y nice.
I always laugh when i see RS200, as an RS200 to me was built in 1984 and had an intercooler in the roof an 2 dampers on each corner. :D
