Thanks :) Never done Snetterton with a data logger or video so not sure i'm afraid but Donington last year was similar to Tony at 1.24 dead but hopefully taken a few seconds off that over winter ;)
Nice one Tony thanks :)
Great stuff :) look forward to catching up with you Mike!
Very nice :)
Great stuff thanks mate! Could do with lots of pairs of hands for quali but other than that should be okay thank you.
Be good to see you Phil :) yes but we have 2 15 minute races.
FLOL
So Mallory race all entered, Trackday the day before booked and most of the spares ordered :) What a blinkin expensive day lol! Can't wait though will be great to get out competitively in the car and see how it does.
Massive thanks to Adam at Wolves Renault Parts he always takes the time to...
They use a spherical instead of a balljoint and then a pin that goes into the hub. There is only one type of metal that I would want that pin to be made from to be strong enough and at the price they are selling them for it's not going to be :( I wouldn't risk them on my car. As above they are...
I'm pretty certain they will say yes but we will just have to pay for an extra driver which is £20! I'm going to book it now and then i'll try speak to them on the way to work tomorrow :)
Also have you seen the new timetable since we have got our own race? I have looked but can't find it :(
Yes mate going to book it in a minute just got to total up the damage from ordering the spares today :dead:
Having a BBQ Friday night if you fancy some cremated food? It's about time I repay the favour of all the food you gave me last year :)
I can still ask Javelin if they'll let us do a car...
Good call on the spark plugs I have a spare set just hadn't thought of them :)
Reminds me I need to order more oil thanks Chris :) Got plenty of cable ties ;)
So first day off where i've had some time in ages so been trying to get organised for the Mallory race in a few weeks. Tyres all ready to go so have moved my attention onto spares. I didn't really carry many spares last season but this year most of my testing will be done the day before races so...
Does anyone on here know their way round a JC5 quite well? I need to swap my 5th gear ratio but I don't have the time before my next race to get the box out so i'm looking to see if its possible for me to swap the 5th gearset without taking the box out of the car? I know the JC5 has the end cap...
Just whizz a spark plug out and put a jump start cable from the main body of the spark plug to an earth on the car and see if you get spark. If you can't be bothered open the throttle and spray some brake cleaner down and see if you hear it ignite :)
Thanks Mark :)
Haha yes it does, it was mounted the same last year its on my list to make some brackets I just haven't had time as yet.
Thanks :) lol wait for the 2014 model ;)
Thanks Oli :) I keep thinking about it but I don't think the vibration is the diff. I have put the car on a shaker setup and we can't find any play in the suspension joints so i'm thinking it must be the slight play in the AST damper shafts :( I just can't see i'm going to have time to take them...
Thanks Keith :) it felt pretty horrid to drive so I was surprised at the lap times! Can't wait to drive it again! Thanks should be at Oulton a lot over the next few months
I wouldn't bother then mate it's imperative that the alignment is done on a perfectly level area. Track torque are about the same price plus about £50 for corner weighting if you wanted that doing too!
Haha yes I had a bad feeling when it spun, thankfully it had been fairly dry so the grass wasn't too soft for the car to dig in!
Lol I presume he wasn't trying as a cup racer on slicks is a quicker car without a doubt
Yeah I thought it was more interesting than a few laps of me just driving...
Mallory Park Shakedown Test:
So after a very long rebuild it was finally time to give the car a shakedown test, with time and money both lacking it was decided to go straight to the location of my first race of this season so Mallory Park morning test was the choice. I had a list of things to...
Was going so well, was gutted to see this happen :( Thanks for the passenger laps really appreciate it! Interesting the diagnosis, when I was looking at the AFR's as we went flat chat down the straight I thought they were bob on!
I want to stop carrying Michelin PS2's and R888's and just find one tyre that does both heavy rain and damp. Been looking at the R1R's but didn't really think about the 595's. I will have a look into the AD08's.
For 90% dry running I would just use 888's Tim they aren't as quick in the dry as...
