I didn't plan to do my own car during my time off from normal work, but I just couldn't resist!
I actually built most of the rear beam yesterday, before playing GTA lol Flumps are good, although lots have gone.
I'm uselss at sitting around! I aspired to his car when I first started. Once...
Cheers very much buddy. Yeah I'm now decided on Silver wheels, One of the grey will become a spare (although planning to repaint first) and the other I'll keep as a spare somewhere. Need to find another Silver wheel!
I looked at the rear beam again, and then looked at my car, followed by a huge...
Boxing day mornings work.
Started the morning having not removed anything from the top side of the engine bay..
Hour or so later...
Plan to change the clutch and get the new box in Saturday or Sunday, I can't be arsed today!
My drums and shoes are in amazing condition tbh, No idea when they were last changed, but when my ABS broke recently I was locking the rear before the front! However, I like the look of discs (what can I say, I'm a bit gay) and it obviously adds to the sport rep-ness.
Hmm, Just get 172 stuff...
Subframe would surely be even more hassle?
Imob I can imagine to be a pain in the ass tbh!
In other news.....
Finished this up this morning, Plan to fit it asap, then paint disc edges, and at some point in the not to distant future polybush it.
Also have a 172 Master Cylinder and servo to...
Engine conversions ain't cheap, Been there, done that, got the memories and skint'ness to show for it!
I don't think cutting the chassis leg should be too much of an issue, get engine in and work out how far it has to go to be level etc and then cut it out, Can always not go as far as you think...
I hope the engine will fit without too much work, I saw a few posts about the Ren 6speed box that said the chassis needs cutting, which shouldn't be too bad tbh, Will end up stronger than factory! Shafts I can imagine will be a pain, If I wasn't aiming for 200bhp and over 350 lbft I'd cut and...
Ha, Milions :D
I don't really know what your car looks like. I can't go a month without doing stuff to it, I get bored easily and I like improving it, keeps me busy!
I think Paris would moan more then! Hes moaning enough about missing one!
Got the trim in place (bare in mind it wont fit up...
I'll tell you why its bloody pointless too, to need more fuel, you need more air, and more air than a air filter can give you, infact a lot more air than standard.
You'd just end up overfueling it, loosing performance, wasting loads of petrol and maybe f**king up the engine.
Forgot to reply to people in here, So multi-quote ftw.
Does look awesome, I'm not a huge fan of inward rolled, I don't think it would have suited it in this case either.
You need to post your car up more!
I have one, its just in the post somewhere (I hope!), and its your fault you've not...
I don't like 182 wheels, Like that one though, but I feel that could more be due to how clean it all is!
I do love that black wheel'ed flamer, However, I don't think I could live with it.
I keep looking at the drivers side on my car and I just love it, then I look at the otherside and realise...
I missed the ARB bit, not paying attention! lol
Interesting though, Will have to keep an eye out as I don't remember seeing a "later" one.
Everyday is a school day!
This intrigued me, So I checked the two beams I have here, off cars, 02 172 and a 04 182, I can't see any differance, Bar maybe the ARB being thicker on the 182, However that could just be its covered in more dirt and crud.
Would love to be prooved wrong though!!
Bolt was rounded, cut the clip, I wasn't going to spend ages extracting that as it was the last thing! lol
I work outside for a living, and it wasn't that cold this morning, Took my coat off after 10mins. Plus I have this, and a Polo to do a clutch in, Hopefully before I'm back to work in January!
Terry had this for a while... And now its broken!
So its back.... Gearbox has gone..
Haven't had a lot of time, one evening I stripped the wheels, arch liners, one shock and unbolted the bumper (not that theres a lot holding it on now!)
Got it nice and high, so I could get the axle stands...
I've never tried it on a clio, but I imagine it'll be a pig. They are designed so you can't open the bonnet without the lever.
I don't think popping the grills out will work, besides you'd have to ruin it to get anywhere, And even if you did, the slam panel and rads would get in the way IMO...
Had wheels worse than that pass MOT's, I would not be conserned at all with it.
Although I'd probs get a rubber hammer on it and make it look a bit straighter. I assume it holds air fine?
