I wouldn't say its too heavy, around 1.4kg so using it for extanded periods shouldn't be a problem. I looked at the Sigma 50-500 before I bought, theres always fierce debate on the camera forums as to which is best, truth is - the Canon blows it away, over on the Warehouse express forum, Andy...
Like it a lot, a lot of people are put off by the push-pull thing, theres lots of talk about it dragging dust into the lens, but to be honest I cant say its been a problem even when I was using it out in Africa.
Its autofocus is fast and the IS easily allows you to hand hold at 400mm without...

I tried this in XP and it closes the window but leaves the blue bar at the top of the screen - never seen that one before - it's f**k all use like but hey, every day's a schoolday :)
ps. the f3 thing I use at work might be usefull but i'd still rather tip the whole machine into a skip :p
Punkbuster stops people from using cheats in online games, basically it stops cheaters from using mods on games to gain advantage.
Hadn't heard of gamespy comrade but had a quick look and it seems to be an instant messaging type thing for gamers, looks a load of arse to me but try taking a look.
The f button that makes all your windows zoom small so that you can see them all at once and select any one of them. I think it's f10 but can't swear to it because as with most keyboard shortcuts I do them on autopilot.
Not strictly correct, graphic designers and the like (reprographics professionals) use macs because they have to as everyone else does, however Esko systems backstage workflow will take care of that, everything is illustrator based and at that point my place and presumably others will switch...
So it is ;) it was late when I posted that, ive just dug out the receipt from a month ago when I had to change cards, it was a BFG 9600GT OC 512MB at £69.85, that was off the shelf though not online.
Pissy world do an 9600GT for about 70 quid, so its under your budget and the upgrade in performance can be seen right here.
That'll chew those games up that you mentioned without breaking sweat.
Its on their site here
Sounds a little to me like your isp might be throttling your connection, some do this at peak times and it can be a right pain in the arse. I was having a similar problem with Wanadoo after they were bought by Orange, playing an MMORPG i'd suddenly get huge packet loss and it made it unplayable...
I've posted these before but they are still my favourites. Both taken on the Masai Mara in 2006
More of the same here from a picture thread form ages ago.
System idle process is just something your processor does with unused clock cycles, you'll usually find it eating massive cpu usage, it's only because your system isn't doing anything else. Perfectly normal mate.
Yup, I do Bradford-Portsmouth-Bradford in a day to go to Rentech without any problem, I personally think the Recaros are the comfiest seats i've ever had. Yeah the suspensions hard - so what :)
Man up TBH ;)
Lolz, in steps the Munson to tell it like it is, couldn't agree more fella, haven't heard this much shite since the last time I read any of Stromba's bull.
I await a machiavelian response to that one (after he's wiki'd machiavelian)
Nothing at all wrong with the 300d, only downsides I can see are that its a little sluggish in its operation and can only buffer 4 shots, i've had one for ages, its now a backup to a 30d and has never let me down. As much as i'm a canon head i'd say that if you can get a d40 for similar money...
