How long has it been since you had the coolant changed? Did you also check for oil build up etc around the engine block etc more dominantly round the back by the exhaust manifold
My friend had the same car, normally if the head gaskets gone the coolant water is brown, and there's a horrendous tapping, good 2 hours to change the fluids and clean the manifold out, easy as chips a monkey could do it ;-)
D4F engines are shite for oil breathing, pretty common for this to happen but that's a lot of gunk! Change your coolant and oil and give the inlet manifold a clean and the throttle body and you should be fine, check for oil residue and build ups around the block etc
Finally got the sport seats in today thanks to Scrooge ! Heaps better and more comfy that the tacky blue w**k attack seats before
And the sport steering wheel fitted too! Proper pleased with this by far my best mod/upgrade
Can anyone actually have a 182 exhaust cut down and welded up to fit a 1.2 ? Looking to take the rep build further and do the 182 rear end but I don't fancy shelling out 300 nuggets for the ktec exhaust...
1st gear is gutless, second and third are the best gears by far in the 1.2 16v's, I did have my old engine remapped and went bang after 409 miles, sourced the new engine, had a custom outlet manifold made down to the cat, custom made induction kit and it roars :-)
Curious to know. The car isn't exactly the fastest on acceleration and a snail could probably hit 60 quicker but has anyone ever clocked their 0-60 time?
