My guess would be either the baffles in the centre section have broken (you may be able to push the centre and hear the rattling) or the heatshield has fallen loose and is resting on the exhaust (have a look under the car).

Similar thing happened to mine but it didn't say sim card problems, just stuck on that screen no matter what I did. And I true it all. Apple confirmed it was fooked. Luckily they replaced it for free outside of warranty.
