Roll Centre Correction hubs on a daily driver - Lunatic Idea?

Question for those running RCK on your hubs and most notably the original @NorthloopCup / BigAsh kits. Has anyone run these on a daily driven vehicle, and how have they faired in terms of bearing life/corrosion. I run a full spherical bearing setup on the front of my Cayman R but this does...

Recaro Pole Position Seat fitting - Info

Ah I see, makes sense. I have the alloy mounts which don’t come with these. I still think I’ll be adding some PPF to the shells where they are fixed to protect them anyway.

    Niall's BG 182

Good man. You’re going to love the additional hook up. Mines a mostly standard car and the difference the diff makes on the road is massive. Easily one of my favourite changes on the car. 🙂

Recaro Pole Position Seat fitting - Info

Where does it show you a washer must be fitted mate? Is this an instruction from the side mount manufacturer or from Recaro themselves? Every set of PPs I’ve seen fitted there hasn’t been a washer from what I can see.

Recaro Pole Position Seat fitting - Info

Thanks gents I thought as much, you have confirmed my Initial thoughts. My main thoughts was to how others have fitted the seat belt receptacle for the 3 point lap strap. I think I’ll be getting some universal cable mounted receivers and fastening them directly to the side mounts by drilling...

    Coilover covers

Bumping an old thread here. Clearly you guys are using 406mm covers for the front dampers. Those running rear coilovers, are you using the same size covers on the rear too? Thanks.

    Clio with Rotrex super charger

Flat out of the lauda-link at Berwek, up Kesselchen, screaming in 4th gear, grab 5th and watch the speed start to fall off again. #facepalm Back to 4th and hang it on the limiter all the way to the top. Hahaha

Recaro Pole Position ABE vs Cobra Nogaro?

Bumping this chaps for those who have/had the PPs fitted. Finally got some time to fit my seats, (had them since September!🤦🏽‍♂️) What/where have you fastened the seat belt receptacle to? The side mount? I was going to drill the sidemounts and fit them there but interested to see what...

Recaro Pole Position Seat fitting - Info

Thanks Jon, I guess the seat width will dictate the runner spacing once they're fastened to the seat . Out of interest, what seat/spacing was used to mark as the pattern for the holes in your bases?

That’s fine, but this is all I’m asking. I’m just asking what people are running and what they have had to do to achieve it.

    Spacers 'guide'/info

Lmao. Well I’m so glad you’re here to clear that up for me else I’d be in trouble. It’s not the science of it. I just don’t want to butcher (bend/cut/hit with blunt instrument) my car unlike others do, so I’m asking in advance. People post their cars low with aggressive fitment but how many...

Creaking noise + potential upgrade excuse

How long is a piece of string? Could be a tyre on an arch liner, could be a top mount. Impossible to say without looking at it. Upgrade as required :D

Thanks Dom :) Scrubbing anywhere? Full lock? Catches arch liners or bumper brackets?

Got a pic at all of how much you have had to bend the bracket? I assume you don't have any arch liners or are they melted away by the tyre there Louis?

    Spacers 'guide'/info

How many of you guys running spacers and coilovers are getting scrubbing or have had to cut/bend/remove bumper brackets to allow clearance? I want to run a lower ride height with spacers but cant be doing with scrubbing on lock or hacking up the car/wheel arch liners.

Just to add some info i measured on my 2005 Cup chassis 182. Standard hub protrusion 14.2mm Speedline Turini 16" (Cup fitment ET38.5mm) Speedline 2118 15" (ET43)

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Yeah always liked the old 888s. Likewise a shame you cant get Bridgestone RE070s in our size. Scrubbing is my absolute pet hate, but still want to run a reasonably low ride height. Just cant be dealing with scrubbing wheel arch liners and having to butcher bumper brackets for clearance.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

So Ive had a measure up for spacers and will add some pics here incase anyone else is interested. Mainly for the chamfer sizes on the rear faces of the wheels im using. My stock cup chassis hub protrudes just over 14.2mm. Speedline Cup Turini ET38.5mm has huge a 6.3mm chamfer. Speedline 2118...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Sounds ideal. I’ve not yet looked into it but tempted once I get some garage space back to rebuild a motor for mine just to drop in when the time comes for a refresh. A standard rebuild can’t be that expensive I imagine.

Done a lovely job on that motor Graham. How far did you go with machining? Original pistons so just a hone?

Fitting pure motorsport slip in 10mm wheel spacers

Wheel nuts are tapered for centralising the fastener. The loads subjected to a wheel even at low speeds far exceed what a stud/bolt could cope with in terms of wheel location. Wheels need to be held in position by a central mandrel. The bolts/studs/nuts are only there to stop the wheel falling off.
