    Hardwearing, economic tyres?

Uniroyal rainsport Goodyear efficientgrip? Avons? any of those will be cheap and more than sufficient for your neeed da fuq? Because he doesn't want to fit Yokorelliyear Ultratracksemislick 4.WOWs onto his 1.2 Shopping-edition clio, apartently he's a mental. Frankly, even the "Sporty" clios...

    Advice please (clio choice)

if you really want a rattly can of a motor that steers well, a 172 Cup or Ph.1 172 would surely be the default choices.

    Karcher K2

Just as I expected. Whatever fella, it works fine for someone who wants to wash their car, not fap themselves into a coma taking photos of how they wash their car. "oh, oh yes, yes, oh the foam, yes...oh look at you, yeah, you're bad beading aren't ya..mmmmm" I have used "the proper ones"...

    Karcher K2

Got one of these for the old man at xmas. £100 with car and home attachment kits (feels like a rip-off now lol) The Karcher foam lance is actually fine, as much as CS will tell you that it does nothing but make soapy water. The key element appears to be which foam fluid you use

What have you done to your car today ???

Left the car in the garage, away from all the snow, salt and people driving into walls because it's marginally damp and cold.

    My MX5!

As per my PM. Come out in Listerine for a few min, it's not going to be a night-and-day difference buy you should notice a 40hp increase...that said, she's carrying some weight, so maybe not :)

    My MX5!

yes, you're paying scene tax hand-over-fist. If you're going to look at y0! mad JDM-only import W0w! cars then that will happen. Not to mention that the mk2.5 facelift doesn't look right on that RS either, for some reason. Let me make this really easy for you: Would sir prefer a 5-speed gearbox...

    My MX5!

Even if you could match or better your martes Coraddo, you still lose, because he's got a Corrado VR6, and you have a MX5 1.6. Thems the brakes  That said, the VR6 was 180hp out of the box, pulling a 1200kg front-drive chassis. an S-VT wont be much short of that, pace wise. It may not...

    From Saab to Renault...

If you're just after a semi-comfortable daily that steers well, avoid anything with "Cup" written near it. A "normal" Clio 182 will be a significant change in driving anyway, I can't imagine you'll miss the extra 0.0000001g that a cup pack will provide

bad day replacing the brakes on my daughters 1.5 dci

Think yourself lucky that you're relatively new to CS, this thread could have gone very stalker, very quickly. Looks like some useful advice above though, hopefully you get it sorted without too much swearing

    Can anyone explain superchargers?

@Cub. speaks the truth. Superchargers FTW, everytime. The losses made to drive a blower are offset by the fact that you're making more power in the first place. So even if he's losing 30hp to drive his 'charger, he's still 70hp up on stock.
  23. G

    My MX5!

It did indeed. A stock S-VT won't be enough to win kudos from the midnight club of Bedford, no. But it is enough to make an MX-5 squirrelly, even in the dry, if you drive it like you're trying to set lap times, instead of drift angles. :)

    My MX5!

The pauper 1.8s are 130ish, yes Later 1.8s with valve timing are 150ish, plenty to have civilised fun with. Not enough to do pink slips down the retail park 1/4 mile though, granted. Roryb, just try it. I'be had 6.3 drivers in my old mk2. It wouldn't have been comfortable for a200mile hike...
  25. G

    My MX5!

AHHH! Yes, forgot about that. The mk2 1.6 is a painful 99hp job. They reduced the power to promote the 1.8 Euan, have you thought about just getting an S-VT eqipped car? That would have 50hp extra straight away and you could retro-fit your seat and dildo as if nothing had changed :) Anyway...

    My MX5!

    Oh Christ. You're a lost cause ;)
  27. G

    My MX5!

bloody ricers  Remember, unlike the Clio types, MX-5's dont actually need 200hp to feel significantly quicker than stock. That's the joy of sitting on the floor  My chief concern is how long a "budget" turbo setup will last at 200hp.
  28. G

    My MX5!

RX-8 injectors from a breakers then. Head work and ITBs will be about 170 on a 1.6, surely? And the raw noise and response will make up for the wait....wait.....waaaaiit....BOOST. 200hp!!.. change gear. waaait......... After trying a 200hp 1.6, that was my finding anyway. Mind, I'm an NA...
