If a 231hp RX-8 can't show clean heels to a 1*2 then the driver is clearly either a total virgin or having lunch.
Anyway, I know which one I'd rather have if there was a forced choice, and it wouldn't be French.
RX-8 is your only cheap solution....to purchase and keep at a standtill. That said, a boosted '5 will do about the same MPG for fuel, but it wont burn oil half as fast.
I wouldn't trust the home-brew, fit-yourself / ebay special 2-3k turbo kits either.
If I had 3k to pour into listerine-...
Yep, nobody listens to sense until it's too late and they're selling their modified car for 20% less than the going rate for an unmolested example with full dealer service history.
Louder doesn't mean better.
Unless we're talking about your mum in bed, of course.
a foam filter panel isn't going to make your 4-pot Clio sound like an exotic overnight. Indeed, it won't do much at all.
A more cost-effective solution would be to pull the air-feed hose off the side of the...
Just stick to driving the car fella.
All the moneyon lowering etc. will be much more useful when poured into servicing, tyres, fuel, tax, insurance etc.
I get that you're keen to be "individual" with your car but, quite frankly, you'd be more individual if you kept it standard :)
Welcome aboard, hope you enjoy it.
The forum is full of useful (and some less useful) info. If you're ever stuck for something, do a search and you could well find your answers :)
It's not going to get any healthier or quieter.
Just get it done. I'm not sure what consequences there are if it fails entirely, or even if it can per se. However I doubt it'd be good.
Besides, £100 is, what, 2 tanks of fuel? You've bought a highly-strung version of what was a cheapo shopping...
Water pump - May as well replace while you've got the thing apart
Dephaser - replace while the whole thing is apart to save later efort
tensioners - yes
belts - yes
basically, do the lot. If you're going to start scrimping on costs, it'll only bite you again later.
More correctly, given that...
Have you opened the bonnet to have a look yet?
Could be leaks in hoses, rads, a busted head, no coolant in the system, all sorts.
My over-the-internet, with no pics diagnosis is:
Water ingress into the high-level brake light
Gran Turismo 2 says it's a '95 car.
Well bloody hell, never thought that.
What about a Nissan Bluebird, with a velour interior? That's pretty classic.
oo! OOOOO!
Vauxhall Senator 3ltr
I used to use an older version one of these.
TV in another room, or another country, didn't matter

Thanks Neil, I've learnt something today :)
One thing though. A 1992 Nissan Primera GT is a faaaaar rarer piece of kit than a Mk.2 GTi Golf. If anything the obscure cars should get more help to be preserved.
I'm looking at MX-3,s and how they've lost all the value they possibly can, But since...
Out of interest @Neil@greenlight, what would make a car be a Classic, other than being old?
I certainly wouldn't say any of the RS clios deserve that status yet but I'm seeing mk.1 MX5s being put on classic policies (G/H reg plated cars).
Also, if it's not down to just age, who gets to...
