Dug the Turinis out, bought some new boots and gave her a proper run out over the North Yorkshire moors.

Nice and light for road use, but can take a beating on track. I had one in my last track machine.

My mate blew a hole in his gearbox with a Valeo clutch. Last lap of Silverstone as well. Might have been a Chinese special though. I think my current machine has a Valeo but I’m putting a Sachs Racing clutch with organic plate in when this one lets go. I‘ve always used Shaftec.

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

I’ve been using them since the 80s but I think it’s his son running it now. He did my CUP alloys but the finish wasn’t great. Friday afternoon job, so I had to take them back. He sorted it without any hassle though.

Yeah they’re a Romax in-house colour - Dark Anthracite. They’re a bit lighter depending on the angle and sunlight.

    Broken it 😭

Mechanical stress more than likely. My mates did this and was just metal fatigue. I suppose until it’s opened we’re just guessing.

Cheers Just the camera angle. It’s completely stock. Another shot from a different angle.

Restoring Little Bluey - my 182 FF ClioSport in Racing Blue

Back in 2023, I refitted my CUP suspension after experimenting with ASTs. On a business trip to London the car felt awful - sliding, wobbling, and unstable. A quick check revealed uneven tyre wear on the inside. 2 new Michelin PS3s helped, but a slight vibration persisted above 65 mph. Multiple...

    ‘Bonnie Blue’ The RB 182

Hmmm I’ve never been to a track for a while that uses flyby so I’m not sure what mine would be. Make the journey North.

What are the limits at Brands? Pure Motorsport exhausts with sports cat and centre silencers are between 89-92 dB on stock engines. My new car has consistently been 97db with the same system and that ridiculously loud engine.

    15% off PS3 FLASH15 Blackcircles

I needed some PS3s for my Turinis so had a look. £485 inc VAT and fitting for 205/45/16s. Not a bad deal. Dropped a friend of @Brigsy a message to see if he could match it and do a deal on fitting. Picked them up this morning - £400 fitted and balanced. Back up for £553.56 fitted now. Very...

    Broken it 😭

I was going to say possibly a hole or seal failure in the box. The smoke will have been the oil blowing onto your exhaust. The whining is probably the sound of the gears through lack of oil. Off to @NorthloopCup for a rebuild and a diff me thinks.

    New Clio 182 Track Project

Highlight of the day were two lads from the lakes who picked this 172 for a packet of dolly mixtures. Completely standard engine with K-Tec suspension and AR1 tyres. Bloody nutters 😂 I managed to get past them in the morning - just - when my car was working, but they drove the wheels off it...
