Some great news.
The doner box I sourced from a member on here has been opened up and inspected by another member on here ( incestuous ) and is in great low mileage condition. I’m refreshing some bits just because it makes sense, but it’s great to know I didn’t buy a lemon.

I am capable of building a motor. But certain elements I would have to outsource anyway and I just don't have the time.
I'm planning sourcing a spare to rebuild and mine doesn't even need it yet :ROFLMAO:

I’ll be picking up a spare motor over the winter to slowly build up for mine. Nothing too crazy. Built for dependability and zero’d.

If I was breaking cases, the absolute minimum id do would be:
Rings
Hone
Gaskets
Valves and stems
Shells and bearings
Belts
Water pump etc
Bolts
Oil pump
Sky’s the limit though. The above would likely be £900-£1200 ish in parts by my...
Had a spare half hour so started building up the subframe now.
Arms are in. Balls joints are in. Arb is in with its accompanying bushes etc. Only finger tight atm.

A good detailer can probably sort much of this out on the visuals side.
If it's damp inside, I'd be inclined to get a dehumidifier running in it.
It'll defo want a good service if it's been sat. And likely the belts..
