Make no insurance compulsary? If you cant afford to bin your car dont do track days? Why should people like me who take out insurance on every track day be penalised due to one incident (of which we dont know all the facts) where an insurance company have sued a participant.
Dont get me wrong...
But the point of the thread is the insurance are claiming not any of the competitors.
I always get track insurance for track days to protect myself from damage others can do to my car but also if I have an off not involving another car... just makes sense.
I compete in a couple of sprint series and its a real buzz with the competition and timing element but still enjoy a track day for different reasons.
To ban track days is ridiculous. It gives people the chance to drive (and learn how to drive) their car to the limit in relative safety.
If A is found to be neglegant or in serious breach of his insurance policy following a payout to B then yes.
I think there is more detail to this story than we have
I think (or should that be hope) there is probably some missing information. I would expect there was some negligence in the form of not slowing under yellows or even red flags for the insurance to reclaim their losses.
Saying sorry (effectively admitting liability) wont have helped unfortunately
Never tried them but as a few have said above, have a play with the ture pressures. Youd be surprised the differece it can make to the xharacteristics og a tyre and how they heat up.
Out of interest what pressures are you running?
Theyre okay but id buy new Vredestein Sportrac 5 for the similar price ;)

I do 10 MSA sprints and arounf 5 track days a year so go through them quick enough. Used to be in a Subaru on 235/45/17 until August this year so the price of 205/45/16 was a little less than what i have been used to.
Had the Clio for 3 weeks and only done 1 competition in it so far. Got...
Really surprised the 55s dont rub. Im getting the front rubbing on high speed turn in using 205/45/16. You must be running quite a substantial ride height im assuming?
▲btw that is a bargain
Wish I knew mate. Fire brigade and Insurance Engineers couldn't determine the cause. Oil was definitely fuelling it so assuming an oil line or sandwich plate blew. I was on my way to a 2 day sprint at Blyton Park and had my mapper in the car with his laptop as I'd just had Anti-Lag and Launch...
450 is a good price.
I got mine done at Birchdown near Malpas. Really really good guys and knowledge. I got a fair bit of other work done at the same tine so not sure on price comparison. Theyre ex Renault engineers so about as knowledgable as you can get when it comes to Clios ;-)
Im from preston on thr Hill near frodsham (not far from Chester) and have just bought a 172 cup with similar mods for sprinting. I have the same speedo problem so im going to change the sensor and see if that does it.
I meant looking at the wear on the tyre to see how much its rolling etc. I take your point that circuit racing is definitely different to sprint/ hill climb in terms of suspension setup etc (generally more damping for sprints) and how much you lean on the tyres.
Which is probably the point...
Dont know mate sorry. Ive only had the car 3 weeks lol so dont know much about the specific mods for Clios.
Probably a good chance they will rub
I bought my tyres from event-tyres.co.uk
Theyre a good price and come to you to fit them at your home or work.
