Could be the connections or a ballast that is failing on them, had this problem where they would randomly go out on me. Turned out someone had made a rubbish job of putting rubbish ones in mine.
Have to agree, I could be wrong, but is it possible that 182 get noticed more because of their dual exhaust wheras the 172 just looks like a normal clio as such... again I could be wrong, just a thought
I can see this thread being locked soon haha, to answer your question, yeha get the best tyres you can afford but again its not just about tyres, the way your drive too (not saying you are driving like a maniac) haha :)
Jamie, your personal experience differs from the theory, therefor your opinion and experience is invalid... sorry its just how the internet works ;) haha
Best way, make sure you have decent tyres and drive more carefully, ie.. not flooring it everywhere and when it comes to slowing down try to use your cars engine and gearbox to slow you down, and use a tiny amount of brake for the rest...
Taken mine to some garages before and one said it was a very fun car as he used to own... he ask was it a real 182 haha some people 9robably just think its just a clio and other think boy racer.... seems to attract alot of tailgaters too!!!!
saw a bin man having a good look at it once when it...
Your not alone, I had a bit of a struggle getting it in (that sounds very innuendo) but it does sound nicer, thinking of having some sort of heat sheild which I hope helps to avoid some heatsoak
Personally, I would go for the oem headlights, as you said y8u have your mot coming up and if I am correct in thinking that you dont have projector type of headlight housings? Also best find some new rubber covers as yours have holes in, I had te dame ting and wat mucked up my headlits, had ot...
To be honest it is best waiting till you get 1ncb, I got my clio 182 when I was 19, had 1ncb and I got insured for £900, if im honest with you, I would say wait until you at least have 1ncb, but thata is just purely my opinion :)
Welcome along, first thing to look out for, having 0 ncb, check insurance first :) then if you cna get decent insurance, look at one which has had the belts done and just in general good condition, unless you want to have a project of restoring it :)
iAs many others have said, its your car, you spend the money you want on it, its isnt always about performance, although having something that is quick is fun indeed... driving without having the most fastest car can still be very fun ) so if you want to spend £5 or £5,000, then go for it :)
Welcome along. Best bet would be have a look on autotrader, but short answer you can pick up a decent one for about £2000  best thing to do is have alook on google and youtube for reviews... something tells me this thread might get locked too...
Just spent the best part of 45 minutes reading through this all, and my god what a transformation... looking good there  you and your friends have done amazing job there
Best thing to do is have a look at it in person, and ask for a test drive... check there are no knocks or anything... I portantly check the belts have been done as it has done 74k... its got a full service history... I paid £2200 for my 182 (non cup) which had 73k on the clock but I imagine it...
Well I have had it on for over a week now, just been letting the ecu adjust etc and the nosie is very nice it makes, definitely addictive to get the 2000k noise... to me, it kind feels like it pulls slightly better at lower revs, whther thats just my imagination, but in 4th gear at just over...
That sounds normal to me... I mean I could be wrong, but if the guage never went above halfway, then I wouldn't be worried at all... if it had gone over halfway fair enough, I could understand...
Now im not an expert, but going from experience, if I leave my car over night, lets say I dont...
