General Update and Donington Trackday evening:
So Since Anglesey a lot had been going on behind the scenes and I was trying to sort out new suspension. I made the decision about 2 weeks ago to go with the...
Re: FAO the mechanical minded Dan/Fred/chip . full front end suspension rebuild HEL
Best way to measure them is to go from the centre of the pin to the edge of the tie rod inner joint as some TRE's differ in length :) As above though even running crazy toe for 5 mins won't damage anything!
Haha lol doesn't mean I know anything :rasp:
I would choose caster over the strut brace yes but you could do what I am going to do in winter and get caster along with keeping the PMS kit! Have a look for a thread that Chip has done in the last week 'got caster yo' or something like that. It's a...
Option 1 are the better product and will be more reliable in my opinion but the caster provided with the AST's will probably be of more use to you than the strut brace.

Don't worry Andy the car was on the trailer by 6.15 lol! I'm never going to give up so there will always be next time :)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Lol I disagree but can see the advantages if you like faffing ;) I personally would just go out and buy a turbo/supercharged car but then I guess that means I should of just gone out and bought a race car lol...
Yes it is silly expensive for 3 hours track time :( Yeah I need to find one with higher limits or wait until I change my exhaust but doubt that will be in the next month :( Also think it's the induction noise for me!
Haha sounds like a plan ;)
Very good price but I have never liked driving...

Ahhh perfect I hope there is one of it airborne lol ;) Yes it certainly was and sounds like you had fun driving to and from donny :)!!
Let me know if you end up finding one please Pete as i'm having the same problem trying to find a decent one. Will probably just end up testing the day before but its ridiculously expensive :( It's an epic circuit though, you should do it!

Thanks for that Phil :) Looking forward to seeing them! Shame we got such little time on track to limit the photos :(
No mate :( it's got to be full original silhouette, although I will just drop an email to them to confirm as I get so bloody hot in the car I will just go and steal Mark's ;)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Haha I have watched 5 mins of the seven recorded and that consisted of me nearly binning it, then red flag coming out for someone, me going into the pits and swearing a lot about the red flags to Fred lol!
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Thanks for all the kind words about the car :) I'm happy now its finally cleaned up and can see whats what!
Sorry for the slow response I haven't been on the forum since Monday morning. Yes unfortunately I...
Thanks Chip :)
Yes I was thinking to take them off the car and then re drill the hole in the top plate too, I suppose using the same bolt type as you loses the captive ability of the bolt so ball joint changes need the arm dropping but I think its a great way of running more caster :)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Thanks mate :) Yes they are really good thanks for them!
Hahaaa PMSL I was thinking the same thing as I was applying the stickers lol ;)
Yes Phil ;) Time for me to move on (and up :p)
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
For those who aren't on Facebook then below are some pictures from today :) The car is now fully ready for Donington apart from I just need to refit the top mounts when they get the new bearings and will take...
Lol at the thread title ;)
Good work Chip! I thought about doing this yesterday when doing my ball joints but then realised the pure plate that I have welded on will stop me getting access to the new bolt so I will do it over winter instead! Hope you don't mind me stealing your idea ;)
That's a shame mate :( We had rain here most of the afternoon too!
Stick with it mate :) You not tempted to do a trackday and just get more time in the car or is it the competition you like?
PS the memory card with the pics is finally in my computer!!
