After putting the head on I kept thinking I should have I bought some uprated valve springs, later that day a new set of cat cams valve springs came up for sale .. heads now coming back off to fit these. Also bought the worlds most expensive sump plug ?
Tidied up the engine bay and front...
Went to fit my steering rack bushes, whilst doing that I thought I’d clean the grease off the subframe .. resulted in subframe coming off, stripped to bare metal and repainted, rack off, cleaned up and painted, new powerflex bushes and finally fitted my cup wishbones.
Oh really? I emailed them last night and they emailed me first thing this morning answering all my questions. It does do boost by gear and everything else I wanted so I’m very tempted to get one.
Been having a think about mapping and turbos, think I’m going to sell my AEM and buy a ME221 stand alone as I’d really like to have boost by gear, going to get a slightly smaller turbo to, a GT2860RS. Won’t be for a while as there both £££’s And I still need a clutch kit ?.

Basically I need a ECU to run my Clio Turbo, preferably plug and play so I’ve narrowed it down to the Gen90 or a Me221.
Is there any advantages either of these offer that the other doesn’t?

Big thank you to PEC/Supertech, they didn’t have intake valves in stock when I ordered but they quickly ade some and shipped them over in 10 days ?
Stainless intake valves with black nitride coating. Inconel 751 nimonic alloy exhaust valves.
My poly bushes turned up to.
Gearbox prepped and painted
Fluids bought
Roll bar removed, stripped to bare metal, primed then painted. Got new power flex bushes for this and steering rack on order
Head stripped and cleaned, just need to do the mounting faces.

Oil return fitted
New oil jets fitted
Engine thoroughly cleaned, bearings fitted and lubed
Rings fitted to pistons, weighed and matched to the rods
Installed
Oil pump filter cleaned, primed and fitted
Engine back from machine shop, bored and decked, rings gapped and rods checked for round and honed slightly.
Few bits cleaned up and painted
Rocker cover crackle painted
Block, sump and inlet manifolds next.
Removed the remaining heater and air con bits from under the scuttle panel. 5.6kg in total, left 2 big holes going into the cabin so I’ve order some alloy to make some blanks.

Seats in, harness in, steering wheel on, wiring nearly finished, new foot rest fitted.
Ignore the heater matrix rad down near the pedals it’s coming out with the engine.
Decided not to fit the flocked dash in the end, tidied the loom up instead so dash will be for sale soon.
Cage went in, fitted a treat, subframes painted and fitted, 5/6 point mounts fitted. Hopefully get the last 2 harness mounting points in this week along with the seats and harnesses.
