You can get the magic tree scents in aresol form now. I have a can of Black Ice quick spray inside the car every so often and give the tree a good spray too keeps the car smelling nice. Can lasts ages as well because its so strong.
So true, the F4R is a s**t engine really. Seriously considering a Honda K20 for my rally car (or even K20/24 hybrid) only trouble is getting a bellhousing adapter and flywheel made up so i can still keep the Sadev box. 240-250hp no problems on ITB's on an internally standard engine that you can...
Not very good customer service is it really, shame cause the shafts are top notch from what ive heard. I think the Sadev shafts actually use GKN inner lobro's. Where abouts did the Sadev shaft actually break?
Front are 1000lbs rear are 500lbs from what i remember in the manual, if its not that then they will be very close. Stupidly hard anyway! £500 is a bargain though and all you need to make them fit a normal 172 is the Strut casing from Bilstein, they do make them as thats what B14's use. Ive...
Yeh thats deffo just a standard clio hub, ive had many a heated discussion about the hubs with R-sport when i tried to order some suspension. Trying to tell me they are just 182 hubs and all sorts, i was just like well i have 172, 182 and Cup racer hubs here and they are all different..
It...
Pretty reasonable that, think I paid £38 each for the pins.
Yeh the rear axles have stiffer bushes and some small gussets, nothing special. If I bend mine ill just fit a road car axle.
Great when you get in the car, not so great when you want to park it up in the shed and you have to turn the car back off through the window lol
Hmm strange, i was thinking of swapping mine out for an armtech but i seem to hear more and more stories of them failing now i think ill stick with...
Yeh mine had a mind of its own once, used to shut the drivers door and the ignition would turn on.. Took the circuit breaker apart cleaned it all up and its been ok since. But thats all working fine so highly doubt its related considering when the car start its runs perfect. The new engine ive...
How much did the new hub set you back? I some how managed to get a set of genuine cup racer ones on ebay about a year or two ago for like £50. Seems that hub breakages are a bit of a common issue on these cars, seems to run hand in hand with cars that have had knackered uni balls at some point...
Is there not a part number cast into it? pretty sure they are Laguna with an insert for the track rod end pressed in. Might be worth checking the uni ball pin is still straight as well cause I managed to bend one on mine when it got crashed and my hub didn't even break.
Cranks over normally Ian. Even on Thursday night with the old battery it would start and it was barely turning over then. Something has definitely been damaged when the old engine was taken out. Exactly the reason I don't like anyone else other than myself working on the car.
We have tested...
Well the P4P ones fit exactly like the standard window, I highly recommend fitting them on a manual winder instead of getting sliders. So much easier to get on with and the mechanism weighs bugger all.
If it didnt have any of that it would be just like every other x-pack'd escort, it sets it appart from the rest. I say fair play for being different, it pulls it off.
Id go for the hardcoat tbh, they may scratch a bit but nothing like compared to standard polycarb. The windows from P4P are really good, i have hardcoated thermoformed all round on my car, really nice fit. looks almost like standard glass, even have it on winders at the front and they go up and...
Having an issue with my Cup Racer starting, my motor dropped a valve on a rally last week so I swapped it out for one of my spare engines. But now it won’t start under its own power, when cranking off the battery I get no spark at all (New battery fitted same day). I have tried using a jump pack...
Haha i should hope so too, i havent even sat in the car since last October let alone driven it. Yeh, see your 18th. They have me down in 60th.. hope thats far enough down not to catch people a 1/3 of the way through a stage like last year!
I found on my Cup that was in perfect working condition that under heavy braking the back end would become very loose. I think there just like this stardard tbh, makes them pretty exciting to drive, a decent set of coilovers would help settle it though.
Dont know what the best is but ive got a Magnex full system on mine. Sounds pretty nice, would be nice if it was a bit quiter but its bareable. Nice small backbox too so doesn't look to stupid.
Bit of a shame about the engine not being ready, but atleast you wont be making my car look asmatic haha. Should be interesting to see how the 2 cars compare, cant let yourself get beaten by a kid! ;)
Does anyone know if the fuel pump from a 172 will fit into a Williams fuel pump cradle? Mine has just packed up and ive got two 172 pumps spare but before I go taking everything apart it would be nice if someone could confirm whether it will fit or not?
Cheers
Mike
Prettt sure there is no difference between normal 172 and 172 cup dampers, its just the springs that are different. Same goes for the hubs, they are the same its the wishbones that are different on the cups.
