Have a search on here for the Spax reviews (the later ones, not the initial OMG reviews) fair few people have found them not to be great.

That is lovely, the Corrados seem to be rare motors now days, I remember my mate had a 'Storm' Corrado a few years back, I coveted it something rotten.
Did you try earthing the battery to body as suggested before ordering a new earth? At least you will know that the new strap should fix the issue if it works.
