Dave have you ever thought about britemax vantage? I know its not "boutique" and it never seems to get a mention but it seems like just what your after.
Soft and oily and spreads really well and removing it is effortless.
It's the easiest wax I've ever used and over blackmax it looks really...
Bouncers 22 is nice. Spreads really well, one swipe of the pot does my clio roof easily. It can also be used on trim which is handy.
Like gally said don't leave it too long and its really easy to remove.
Overall its a good wax with a nice citrus smell.
All the above what Feats suggested is good stuff it just depends how far you want to go with it. It can be tricky advising products to someone who is new to detailing because it gets quite expensive. If all you want to do is remove the scratch look at the britemax samples on i4d as there really...
Yeah looks pretty good, although I'd use an applicator pad instead of the polishing cloth, either foam or microfiber will do the job. I usually use microfiber for glaze and foam for wax but it doesn't really matter.
Have you got any wax? Have a look at the dodo samples on i4d as these will...
Thats the thing, sometimes its better to pay a little more and get what you want. If I was in your position I'd save a little longer and do it properly.
The lambswool one in halfords is pretty good. Might be worth having a look online tho if your gonna get a few bits like polish and that.
Also if you do use black hole make sure you wax after or it will just wash away.
Two bucket method, mitt and a drying towel is all you really need to wash...
Well you may as well have a go at polishing it because it won't do it any harm just don't expect too much.
A touch up pen may help but I haven't got any experience with touching up such a big scratch so I couldn't really say.
There might be some videos on youtube that may be helpful.
I'm also...
Good little write up. I also struggled with application but I'm gonna give it another go soon and see how I get on.
I have to agree with everything you said tho, really impressive product.
The 35 f1.8 is very good! I use it on my D5000 and its by far my favourite lens. Very sharp and I personally think the focal length is better than the 50mm.
I'm not sure I'd bother with performance mods on a 1.4. Just enjoy the mpg and when you've saved some cash upgrade to something quicker or put the money towards mods for your subaru.
The alternator will be fine. I drove about 10 miles when my battery was dead and it was ok. Battery wouldn't hold any charge tho and was dead as soon as I switched the car off.
Edit: If you are a bit concerned get the car running and then put the multimeter on the battery, it should be in the...
Yeah I wasn't sure just saw williams in the lower grill and put two and two together.
Whatever lump it is it sounds brilliant!
Yeah efi certainly isn't a cheap option and in your position I can definatly see why you want to give the f4r a try...
Fair play for doing something different, I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on with it.
Any reason why you don't want to stick with the c1j? A c1j on efi will make more power than an f4r and be just as reliable.
I know you said its not about power, I'm just curious. Carbs do sound...
One drying towel is all you will need to dry your car. I reckon you could dry two cars before you need to ring it out.
This is what I use and it does the job.

The battery might have enough power for the radio and lights but not enough to turn the engine over.
I had pretty much the same thing happen to mine. Everything worked, even the windows worked but was very slow.
I replaced the battery and it was perfect again.
If you've got a multimeter you...
