Good question this one, as the i have an aftermarket st/wheel in the vee that doesn't have a horn function.
I therefore have to keep changing back to the original wheel for its MOT.

Yep one or 2 thick coats gets a good glossy finish without the need of polishing till your fingers bleed!!!!
Just watch out for runs mate and use a tack cloth before applying lacquer to get rid of fine particles.
And yes leave to dry and harden for a good couple of days before applying any...
