I went to look at a 172 this morning and the heater would not turn off, you could change the temp and direction but not speed. Is this a new heater resistor and if so is that an easy diy job? Cheers.

What sort of price would I be looking at for a new CV joint fitted? From what I can gather it's on it's way out because the boots have perished. So price for 2 new boots and a new CV joint, is it going to start getting expensive? Cheers.

I'm looking to buy another 172 and one that I have lined up to see is described as having a CV joint that will need replacing soon. How do you diagnose that the CV joint is worn? Cheers.

If that was less than a grand then it looks like a good buy to me! I've never driven one and have read a lot of bad things about them. But recently I've started to think getting a 160bhp version for around the £1500 mark, think I need to have a go in one.

Ok, so it's not a Clio but some opinions might help me put a price to this Punto. It's been in the family from new with extensive service history. 1.2 8v Active Sport. 3 months tax/6 months MOT. 4 matching Dunlop tyres that have between 5mm and 7mm of tread, they cost close to £300.

You've done a good job with the bodywork. I'd want a standard exhaust and chrome front grilles though, it looks/sounds a bit "Bradford" at the moment.

If a cat C/D is priced right then I'd certainly consider one. You can't go wrong for £600.

Calm down Banther. I simply put that it was a 172 Cup and not a 182 as you previously thought.
