I was heading North towards Stroud at around half 6 last night. You flashed me, just about reacted quickly enough to stick my thumb up  anyone on here?
Had a decat fitted fairly recently and asked for all the heat shields to be checked out so I'm hopeful it's not that. It's hard to explain but it almost sounds 'plasticky' if that makes sense! I.e doesn't sound like metal on metal, sounds like plastic on metal.
Hi all, have noticed recently if I accelerate in any gear and then lift off I get a rattling type noise coming from what sounds like the drivers side of the car at the front.
It isn't constant, only happens when lifting off at 2k revs and above. Pretty sure it isn't anything exhaust related as...
Hi all,
I've got a 2004 182 with factory fitted xenons. When driving at night I've noticed they just aren't very good, in fact I'd say they're significantly worse than the halogen bulbs in the other car I drive.
The beam appears to be very low and the light output isn't very good. Is there...
Recently refreshed my suspension with new cup shocks all round and cooksport springs and it's absolutely transformed the car. Cost me less than £300 all in. Found it difficult to justify buying coilovers when even Bilsteins would have set me back about a third of what the car is worth!
Hi All,
I'm after some advice in relation to an accident.
I had a minor bump in a leased car back in January - my fault, a lapse in concentration for a moment and I ran into the back of somebody at ~10mph.
The van I hit was a construction company van. It took a while for the claim to go...
Most people on here tend to recommend the Momo boss. OMP do one as well but if you have cruise control, the block connector won't fit through the hole (as I recently found out!)
Check the bolt spacing on the wheel you buy also. The boss' for the clio are 6 x70mm PCD. Nearly all aftermarket...
Hi There,
I realise this has probably been asked a few times but struggling to find results by searching.
I'm planning on fitting my Sabelt wheel at the weekend and I know I need 2 x 3.9ohm resistors to avoid the dreaded airbag warning light.
I don't live anywhere near a maplin so was...
Just following on from this:
Had my tracking done a few weeks ago as the steering wheel wasn't sitting anywhere near straight.
I've since replaced all the shocks (thanks for the help) and standard springs with cooksport ones so ~30mm lower and had new tyres fitted. Had the tracking checked...
Nope. I was unsure myself thinking a coil spring was going to end up embedded in my leg at any moment but they're not under any tension so as everybody says, you absolutely do not require compressors!
I'll have to keep an eye out for your motor! I'm originally from the delightful town of...
Thanks chaps, was preparing myself for a bashing for missing something blindingly obvious but it turns out you're a friendly bunch! Much obliged
Hi all, bear with me here as I'm not an experienced mechanic 🙈
I recently acquired some cooksport springs and new cup shocks all round so am carrying out a suspension refresh on my car.
Have done the rears no worries.
Got the old shocks out of the front no problem and built the new...
Mine's 3.5" (custom job) and fills the gaps nicely imo. Edit: saying that, they don't look any bigger than Amos' above... Might just be the angle of the photo, either that or I'm lying!
Hi all,
I'm fitting some cooksport springs to my 182 in the next couple of weeks and having looked through the history of my car, the rear shocks are ~30,000 miles old and the fronts have never been replaced in 11 years /99k miles that I can see.
I've found I can source new cup shocks all...
